This specimen is a true antique! It was mined at the Cashin Mine in Montrose County, Colorado
sometime between the years 1880 and 1902. The mine ran out of production and closed over a
hundred years ago. This heavy specimen measures 8 cm by 10 cm in total size.

Incredible specimen featuring Native Copper wrapped around a pink Calcite crystal!
Sometimes the natural formation processes of minerals defy belief and this is one
of those times. Apparently the difference in hardness had no effect on the growth
of the Calcite crystal as it somehow found enough room to terminate. Or did it
terminate first and the Copper crystallize around it later? Measures 5 cm by 4 cm.
