EXCEPTIONAL!! Stunningly beautiful cluster
of Benitoite crystals atop Natrolite!
Clusters of this quality are almost impossible to find these days. The mine is no longer
active and all of the finest Benitoites have disappeared into private collections. This
specimen is truely a rare opportunity! The crystals themselves are a gorgeous blue and
exhibit a good amount of gem at the tips. The largest and finest crystal is located on
the upper right side and exhibits nearly a complete triangle with the third termination
located against the backside matrix! It measures 2.3 cm (almost an inch) in total size!
The large crystal at upper left is also nearly a complete triangle with minor inclusions.
From the Dallas Gem Mine in San Benito County, California.
Measures 3.5 cm by 3.2 cm in total size.
Ex. F. J. Barlow Mineral Collection, No. 1779

EXCEPTIONAL!! Kongsberg Native Silver
Wire with Calcite!
I love Silver specimens and Kongsberg is the "Holy
Grail" of Silver localities. A Kongsberg
on matrix with a Calcite rhomb is even more special and that's exactly what this specimen
is.
Believe it or not, the Silver wires and Calcite actually sit atop a matrix of host rock. I
didn't
notice this at first because I was examining the wire but it's definately there,
visible only
on the backside. Jutting out to the left is a thick (around 1 cm) wire that ends with a
curl
and balancing it on the right is a 2.7 cm Calcite. There are the typical cleavages on some
faces but this is of little importance to the specimen. The main wire starts from an area
between the two and rises about 10 cm through a series of twists and bends. Visually,
the specimen is extremely pleasing and attractive and almost takes on the appearance
of a "Silver flame". The vertical wire begins at 1 cm in thickness and gradually
narrows
as it pushes upwards towards the final termination. The surfaces are lustrous and
original.
From the Kongsberg Silver Mines, Kongsberg, Buskerud,
Norway.
Measures 11.5 cm by 5 cm in total size.

Glassy crystals of bi-colored
Aqua-Heliodor!
Both crystals are superbly gemmy, glassy, and terminated with a vibrant color that glows
under lighting!
This is one of the deepest colored bi-color Beryls I've seen in a very long time and the
lack of any serious
etching makes the specimen even more special. Definately gem cutting material but why
would anyone do that?

Exceptional cluster of large Quartz
crystals (Herkimer Diamonds) attached end to end!
Five Quartz crystals form this chain (four large and 1 small)! All
are sharp, glassy, and
partially transparent with some internal phantoming in the top crystal and crackling in
the
bottom three. The crystals are complete and undamaged for the most part with only some
scattered matrix contacting on the backside. This is completely invisible from the front
side as the photo illustrates. I can't remember seeing another chain of Herkimers like
this
one and these have not been reattached. I inspected them closely and they are the real
deal!
