AMAZING COMBO! Large, lustrous Calcites with Native Copper crystals on Prehnite!
I've never seen anything like this large cabinet plate! We've all seen the usual Copper included
pinkish Calcites from Michigan but never have I seen a specimen where the Calcite crystals
and Native Copper crystals are so separated and distinct. The spacing of the two minerals is
very unusual and the various habits of the Copper crystals is an incredible sight to see under a
10X loupe! The Calcites have a matty luster and are nearly flawless with only a few matrix
influenced terminations. All in all, a stunning large cabinet that is both beautiful and unique!

From the Quincy Mine, Hancock, Houghton County, Michigan.
Measures 12.2 cm by 18 cm by 9.2 cm in size.

Currently in the Kevin Ward Mineral Collection
Price $8500

SUPERB!! Stunning specimen featuring isolated Rhodochrosite rhombs with Quartz!
A beautiful specimen featuring three large cherry-red rhombs with two smaller rhombs set atop
white Quartz matrix, surrounding four large Quartz points in the middle. For the record, these are
the largest Quartz points I've ever seen from the Sweet Home. They look more like Arkansas
Quartz than the usual needle Quartz you see from this mine. This incredible plate is from the
John's Pocket and like most specimens from that find, the Rhodochrosite crystals have an
incredible deep cherry color under a delicate matt surface. The thing that's cool about that
however is that it's an attractive matt finish and not an ugly one. The rich color of the rhombs
comes through loud and clear without any paleness or frosting! I think the photograph clearly
demonstrates that. The largest rhomb to the lower left measures nearly 3 cm tip to tip and the
rhomb above it measures 2.7 cm in size. The largest Quartz crystal measures 5 cm in length!
It has a rehealed termination while the other Quartz points have full, complete terminations.

From the John's Pocket, Watercourse Raise, Sweet Home Mine, Alma, Colorado.
Measures 9 cm by 9 cm in total size.

Gold Rush specimen of Native Gold!
Classic specimen of completely crystalline Native Gold from the 1850's -1870's Gold Rush
period of California's history! This specimen was mined after the earliest placer period of Gold
discovery because it is crystalline and is probably from the underground mining that followed shortly
after the initial panning days of the Gold Rush
. There is no water wear or friction - only hundreds of
fine crystals! There's also a 1.2 cm spinel-law crystal on the far left side (at 10:00 - 11:00 o'clock).
Mixed in among the numerous crystals of Native Gold are Quartz fragments and Sphalerite.
From the Mother Lode period (1850's to 1870's) of Calaveras County, California.
Measures 5.2 cm by 3.3 cm by 3.2 cm in size. Weighs 71.8 grams.

on the far left Scheelite along the trimming edge. The top Scheelite measures 3 cm in size!

Lustrous bi-color crystal of Spodumene-Kunzite!
Perfectly terminated crystal displaying quite well the gradual color shift from light
yellowish Spodumene to vibrant rosey-purple Kunzite. Turning the specimen on its
side shows that the crystal changes color at just about the midpoint of its length!
This truely is a half and half specimen - one which is very lustrous and gemmy!

From the Pech (Peech) Pass, Kunar Province of Afghanistan
Measures 6.8 cm by 2.2 cm by 2.3 cm in size.

MIN#Denver2009-90 NEW!

Cabinet sized specimen of lustrous botryoidal Mimetite on matrix!
This is a rare cabinet plate from the world famous San Pedro Corralitos locality!
San Pedro Mimetites are prized for this fine color and botryoidal surfaces and this
specimen has both. The piece is nearly pristine with no major detractions and is
accented by a scattering of tiny Calcite crystals. The color can best be described as a
slightly orangish-yellow and the luster is satiny and rolling. A rare opportunity for sure!

From the San Pedro Corralitos Mine, Mun. de Casas Grandes, Chihuahua, Mexico.
Measures 11.7 cm by 9 cm in size.

MIN#Denver2009-92 NEW!

Aesthetic combination featuring light pink Calcites atop Sphalerite with clear Fluorites!
The Calcites could definately be labeled as Manganocalcite and all but the far right crystal
are complete. The before mentioned crystal was partially cleaved when the specimen was
removed from the matrix but it doesn't detract. The Fluorites in the middle are crystal-clear
and the dark Sphalerite underneath is very shiny and reflective, making for great contrast!

From Dal'negorsk, Primorskiy Kray, Far-Eastern Region of Russia.
Measures 6.5 cm by 10.5 cm in size.

I count three very lustrous crystals, all with textbook terminations! The top

perched mostly on but a little off the matrix near the sides. Attractive miniature!

From the Dallas Gem Mine, San Benito County, California.

Cobalt Silver!! Fine dendritic growths of Native Silver in and on matrix!
I actually visited Cobalt this past summer and did some exploring and photo taking
in this historic mining town. While most of the headframes appear to be intact, they aren't
being protected very well and with the constant exposure to the elements, who knows how
long they'll remain in place. Cobalt was once a major Silver mining district and specimens
like this one are highly prized by myself and other Silver collectors. Impressive and heavy!

From the Cobalt Mining District, Ontario, Canada.
Measures 5.5 cm by 6.4 cm by 5.7 cm in size.

Beautiful polished slice of ringed Malachite!
I'm more used to seeing polished slices of Rhodochrosite but these wonderful specimens
appeared at the show and I was enamored with the beautiful rings and patterns of the Malachite.
I purchased the small lot of three specimens and all are appearing on this webpage.

From the Katanga Copper Province, Katanga Province, Dem. Rep. of the Congo.
Measures 5.7 cm by 7.9 cm by .5 cm in thickness.

CABINET SIZED!! Gorgeous cluster of Beryl var. Aquamarine with Schorl Tourmaline!
Part of a new find in the Erongo Mountain Region which consisted of large Aquamarines
and glossy black Schorls. The Aquas are a gorgeous blue and most are perfectly terminated
and gemmy! The Schorl crystals are equally as fine with glassy black surfaces! I feel this
plate is very well balanced with an attractive ratio of blue Beryl to black Tourmaline.
The large upright Aquamarine crystal near the bottom measures 5 cm in total length.

From the Erongo Mountains, Karibib District, Namibia.
Measures 13 cm by 10.5 cm by 7.5 cm in size.

MIN#Denver2009-99 NEW!

Glowing cubes of Golden Fluorite with light blue rims!
Also with some Calcite, this specimen is in excellent condition with very little in the way
of contacts or dings. The only cube that has any real damage is the cube along the lower left
trim line and this could easily be trimmed away from the cluster or used as the prop for an
upright presentation. By the way, the largest cube measures 4.4 cm and most are near that size.

From the Minerva #1 Mine, Hardin County, Illinois.
Measures 9.4 cm by 13 cm in size.

Price $1500
