MIN#Denver2009-161 SOLD!

EXCEPTIONAL!! Incredibly rich plate of bronze colored Calaverite blades on purple Fluorite drusy!
Without a doubt, this is the richest Calaverite specimen I've ever seen from Cripple Creek. The
shiny, flattened blades cover nearly the entire surface and extend down the sides and even appear
on the bottom of this purple Fluorite drusy covered matrix! Calaverite is a rare Telluride and is
a mix of Native Gold and Tellurium. Most of the time, it appears as a silvery or light yellowish
color but these blades are a bright golden-bronze, indicating a higher ratio of Gold. The purple
Fluorite drusy adds a gorgeous contrast to the golden blades with some Quartz included in the mix.
From the Ajax Mine, Cripple Creek Mining District, Teller County, Colorado.
Measures 6.4 cm by 8.3 cm by 3.1 cm in size.

Ex. Robert Whitmore Collection
Currently in the Kevin Ward Mineral Collection
Price $7500

Denver2009-153chrysomalachite.jpg (94090 bytes)

MIN#Denver2009-162 NEW!

Aesthetic mix of drusy coated Malachite and shiny, smooth blue Chrysocolla!
Both minerals have botryoidal surfaces but the texture difference separates the two just as much
as the color does. The specimen is both sparkling and glossy at the same time! No distractions
or real damage to speak of, this cabinet specimen can be displayed upright or horizontally.

From the Star of the Congo Mine, Lubumbashi, Katanga (Shaba), Democratic Republic of Congo.
Measures 15.5 cm by 7.8 cm by 5.5 cm in size.

Price $1500

MIN#Denver2009-163 NEW!

EXCEPTIONAL!! Stunning specimen of waxy-vitreous Bromian Chlorargyrite (Embolite)!
A beautiful small cab, the crystals are distinct and attractively arranged in a mesh formation
which allows for space between with complete faces. This is especially true at the top where
the crystals open up completely in a loose netting. The color is an original olive-green,
indicating very little direct exposure to sunlight. Since these specimens were mined in the
early half of the 1900's and are antiques, color preservation is always a major plus. I should
also point out that this is a heavy specimen for its size. Lots of Silver Chloride with this one!

From the Proprietary Mine, Broken Hill, Yancowinna County, New South Wales, Australia.
Measures 9.2 cm by 6.8 cm in total size.

Ex. Robert Whitmore Collection
Currently in the Kevin Ward Mineral Collection
Price $5500

Denver2009-325KRKunziteQuartzAfghanistan.jpg (116881 bytes)

MIN#Denver2009-164 NEW!

Large specimen of vibrant pink Kunzite with Quartz points and Albite accenting!
This beautiful specimen is doubly terminated and the Quartz crystal is nearly pristine
with a full point. The color of the Kunzite is quite strong (so many large Kunzites tend
to be pale) and the crystal faces are well striated and glassy. There are the normal
internal craze lines and the bottom termination is complex due to the influence of
Albite matrix (now removed). I once owned a specimen that had a similar appearance
with a large Quartz in association so I was very pleased to find this one at the show!
From Mawi, Laghman Province of Afghanistan.
Measures 17 cm by 11 cm by 9.6 cm in size.

Ex. Revelle Mineral Collection
Listed Price $4500

Denver2009-172vanadinite.jpg (135521 bytes)

MIN#Denver2009-165 NEW!

Flashy specimen featuring glassy reddish-orange Vanadinite crystals on spotted matrix!
Pretty much every crystal is in pristine condition and all are upright standing which always
creates the best overall appearance I think. The spots are nice and may be
Psilomelane.
From Mibladen, Meknes-Tafilalet Region, Morocco.
Measures 10 cm by 10 cm by 4.6 cm in size.

Price $685

MIN#Denver2009-167 NEW!

Gemmy crystals of lavender Creedite on matrix!
These crystals are large and isolated with a color that is more lavender than purple!
I personally prefer this look and think it's more beautiful than the darker purple
specimens. The crystals are very transparent and glassy, ranging from 1 to 1.5 cm.
Interestingly, there are a couple of orange Creedite crystals at the very top!

From Santa Eulalia, Chihuahua, Mexico.
Measures 5.4 cm by 5.3 cm in size.

Price $585

Denver2009-151ILdarkpurple.jpg (125702 bytes)

MIN#Denver2009-168 NEW!

Impressive cabinet specimen featuring large dark reddish-purple Fluorite cubes with Calcite accents!
The color is almost raspberryish but the cubes are a little too thick and the color leans towards the
darker side of reddish-purple. The cubes are also spotted with darker purple spots and highlighted
by tiny crystals of pearly Calcite! In excellent condition with a satiny luster, this is a first rate Fluorite!

From Cave-in-Rock, Hardin County, Illinois.

MIN#Denver2009-170 NEW!

Wow! Superb cabinet specimen featuring bi-colored Fluorite with Chalcopyrite studded Sphalerite!
This is one sweet looking combo plate from Illinois! First of all, it's in excellent condition with almost
no contacts to speak of. The Fluorite crystals exhibit a deep golden glow with a reddish-purple
outer coloration near the surfaces. Framing the Fluorite cubes are lustrous Sphalerites which are
further highlighted by Chalcopyrite crystals! This was one the largest Illinois Fluorites I saw at the
show this year and is definately one of the most impressive. It would easily make a great centerpiece.
Interesting note: The matrix is composed entirely of host rock and tiny ruby-jack Sphalerite crystals!

From the Denton Mine, Hardin County, Illinois.
Measures 13 cm by 14.5 cm by 7 cm in size.

Price $3500

MIN#Denver2009-172 SOLD!

Gemmy crystals of Pink Danburite with yellow Calcite accents!
Wow! I don't see many of these combos anymore and this is easily one of the finest
I've ever offered. The Danburites are incredibly glassy, with a gemmy pink internal color!
The largest vertical crystal measures 7.4 cm in length! Smaller Danburite crystals jut out
in various angles from left to right and all are perfectly terminated. Beginning in the center
of the specimen and extending to the left are dozens of bright yellow scalenohedral Calcite
crystals. It was extremely difficult to capture everything in detail with a photograph because
there is so much flash and glare from all the shiny crystal faces. Grab this one while you can!

From Charcas, San Luis Potosi, Mexico.
Measures 8 cm by 6.8 cm by 4.5 cm in size.

Currently in the Kevin Ward Mineral Collection
Comes with a custom made, labeled base

Denver2009-330KRAmazoniteSmokyQuartzColoradoProvenance.jpg (207766 bytes)

MIN#Denver2009-175 NEW!

Attractive cabinet plate of Smoky Quartz atop Amazonite crystals!
This is an older specimen from Teller County and it exhibits over half a dozen terminated
Smoky points sitting atop fine crystals of turquoise-colored Amazonite. Both of these minerals
sit atop a matrix of Albite with Manebach twinning. It's very important to note that this specimen
is UNREPAIRED, which is a major rarity when it comes to cabinet sized Smoky-Amazonites.
This specimen was found complete and in one piece and remains so to this day. It dates back to
Tucson 1985 where collector Marvin Rausch purchased it and was also once in the Richard Kosnar
Collection which probably means it dates even earlier than that. Most likely from the mid 1970's.

From the RAK Claim, Teller County, near Lake George, Colorado.
Measures 8.5 cm by 10.8 cm by 7.8 cm in size.

Ex. R. Kosnar, Marvin Rausch, Revelle Mineral Collections
