Spectacular cabinet specimen of RARE Indicolite Tourmaline on Albite and terminated Quartz!!
The interesting thing about this specimen is the color! It's a vibrant electric blue which was an
exciting new find to appear in Tucson this year. The Tourmaline crystal is very gemmy and
displays several layers of different shades of Indicolite blue. The main crystal measures
almost 3 cm by a little over 2 cm. The second crystal to the rear measures 1 cm. The entire
specimen measures a cab sized 12 cm by 10.5 cm. The Quartz crystals are terminated save
for the separation zone where the crystal is incomplete. This was trimmed down nicely and the
aesthetics are not compromised. The Albite is clean snowy white and is in perfect condition.
This specimen was the best of this new find at the show! From Petch, Nuristan, Afghanistan.

TC69TOPZ.jpg (35006 bytes)

Beautiful new find of light blue Topaz crystals on Lepidolite with green Tourmaline!
Several specimens of this lovely mix of minerals appeared at Tucson this year and
this one caught my eye. It had the most Tourmaline together with the largest number
of Topaz crystals. The Topaz are complete and fully terminated. They are somewhat
lighter in bluish color than their Brazilian counterparts but every bit as flashy.
Measures 6 cm by 7.5 cm in size. From Petch, Nuristan, Afghanistan.

5 cm and the secondary Tourmaline measuring 4 cms.

TC33SAQU.jpg (29651 bytes)

This is the most exciting Aquamarine to appear in several years at Tucson!
They call it "starburst" Aquamarine and this was the best of the find that I
searched through. The Aquamarine is a vibrant blue that appears in layers
throughout the length of each crystal. The aesthetics of this specimen are
enough to land in on the cover of any fine mineral publication! The crystals
cluster together with a stair-step pattern and are completely flawless and
terminated with a "frosted" top. Other associated minerals are Quartz,
Muscovite, and Albite. From Gilgit, Pakistan. Measures 6 cm by 6 cm.

TC64AQMO.jpg (35489 bytes)

Unique new find!!! Bi-color Aqua-Morganite on Muscovite and Albite!
This crystal is actually a flat hexagonal Aquamarine with an intensely pink
center! Probably started out as a Morganite and later growth continued
as an Aquamarine while staying faithful to the original Morganite form.

Whatever the case, these are fascinating specimens! This bi-color crystal
measures 5 cm in size and the entire piece measures 6.5 cm by 7 cm in size.
From Petch, Nuristan, Afghanistan. The finest of these pieces at Tucson!
