Another Silver rarity! Native dendritic Silver with reddish sprays of Erythrite!
The Cobalt mining area was famous for its mix of Silver and Erythrite in much the same
manner that Creede is famous for Silver and Amethyst but unfortunately, most of the specimens
were not saved. Many collectors and miners would actually clean away the Erythrite to expose
additional Silver, thus destroying many classic specimens. Today, these combo pieces are
very hard to find. Pictured above is an excellent example measuring 7 cm by 5.8 cm in size.

Perfect crystal of translucent Albite sitting atop Quartz and Muscovite!
Albite never seems to get its chance in the spotlight but with this specimen,
it's the center of attention and deservingly so! The crystal at top measures
4.8 cm from left to right. The olive colored Muscovite blades measures around
4 cm in size and add a nice contrast to the stark white Albite crystal. I might
also point out that many portions of the Albite crystal above and the Albite xls
surrounding it are gemmy and transparent. I can see though them quite
clearly. A 5.5 cm Smoky Quartz point is located on the backside. From the
Ipe Mine, Governador Valadares, Minas Gerais, Southeast Region of Brazil.

Weird! A plate of Bitumen on Yellow Calcite!
This was probably the only specimen of Bitumen at the entire show and I can't say I've
ever seen another. Bitumen is a tar-like substance that sometimes occurs with Fluorites and
is frequently cleaned off. This specimen holds its own, however, and is worthy of being called a
specimen in its own right. From the Smith Ranch, Elk Creek, Pennington County, South Dakota.
