RARE CLASSIC! Lustrous crystals of Tetrahedrite with Quartz and Pyrite on matrix!
This specimen dates back to the late 1880's - early 1900's and was once part of the
famed mineral collection of Steel tycoon Andrew Carnegie (1835-1919). Mr. Carnegie
was a Scottish immigrant who launched the American Steel industry and founded the
Carnegie Steel Company which later became the U.S. Steel company. He built an
impressive cabinet of mineral specimens in his spare time, consisting of contemporary
pieces which have now become American classics and true rarities from closed localites.
