Amazing combo featuring Polybasite crystals atop Calcite with a larger Calcite at top!
This is the kind of specimen that really gets me excited! A large, gemmy Calcite sitting
atop a matrix of smaller Calcites which are completely covered by Polybasite crystals
in varying sizes! I love combination specimens but to find one of this size with so many
Polybasites (there must be hundreds of them!) is rare indeed. The largest Polybasite
is very lustrous and can be seen at 4 o'clock in the photo. It measures 1.3 cm in size!

Superb specimen of large Pyromorphite crystals!
Very impressive specimen featuring lustrous crystals which rise as high as 3 cm above
the matrix! The slightly greenish but mostly yellow crystal faces are sharp and glassy.
All are terminated and I only see a couple of small crystals missing on the backside.
From the Jersey Vein, 9 Level, Bunker Hill Mine, Kellogg, Shoshone County, Idaho.

Superb plate featuring very sharp crystals of Pyrargyrite with Stilbite on Calcite!
I've never seen a Silver Sulfide mineral with Stilbite before but here it is! The bottom close-up photo
displays the glassy and quite gemmy crystal blades of golden Stilbite which actually appear in several
locations atop the Calcite surface. The middle close-up photo shows the incredible sharpness and luster
of each Pyrargyrite crystal. They range in size from 1 to .5 cms and cover nearly half the matrix surface.

the Chalcopyrite is complete surrounded by thick Pyrrhotite crystals on all sides!

Stunning combination of Amazonite crystals with Smoky Quartz and Albite!
One of the finest Amazonite-Smoky combos I've seen in a long time. Not only is the specimen
large in size, the color of the Amazonite crystals is every bit as deep as those from the Tree Root
find. The crystals of both minerals are large and well formed and the overall arrangement has to be
one of the most aesthetic I've seen in years. This large plate has the balance and artistic qualities
that all collectors look for in the finest of specimens. There are the usual repairs and restoration
common to Amazonite-Smoky but they are so expertly done that they are virtually invisible.
Considering the pocket conditions in which these specimens are found, it's always amazing
to me just how beautifully they're put back together. Even the Smoky points on this specimen
are complete and terminated with only the most minor of bumps here and these along the edges.

Lustrous and quite rare Native Silver Wire rising up from a matrix vug!
I can tell you right now that I seldom see good matrix wire Silvers from China. This specimen
leaped out when I saw it in Tucson and I had the matrix trimmed even further to more centralize
the wire. The wire itself is pretty big, measuring just shy of 5.5 cm from base to tip! I love the way
it does an "S" curve bend as it pulls away from the Calcite and Acanthite coated vug and rises
upwards, well above the matrix. The wire is very lustrous with a golden patina and very attractive.
From Lingqiu County, Datong Prefecture, Shanxi Province of China.

Lustrous pyramidal crystal clusters of Acanthite with Native Silver wires!
An amazing combination featuring stacked Acanthite ps. after Argentite (Silver Sulfide) crystals with Native
Silver wires throughout! Obviously the Sulfur component was removed at some point during the development
of this specimen, allowing for the Native Silver growth. Specimens like this always amaze me. They are both
beautiful and extremely interesting in a geological as well as an historical sense. This specimen is a classic
rarity from a major Silver mining district which has faded into the past. Fortunately, great specimens survive
for all collectors to enjoy. I might point out that this specimen is very heavy and nearly solid Silver mineral!

Beautiful cabinet plate of patterned bluish-green Smithsonite!
I love the look of this specimen! The color is a wonderful sea-green and the patterning in
the lower right corner really gives the specimen some character! There's also a very nice
variance from darker hues to lighter hues along the Smithsonite surfaces. The surface
is what a painter would call "eggshell" with a slight luster over a delicate texture. This
is easily one of the best large plates I've seen from the Kelly Mine in recent years.

First we had a Copper Scorpian and now a Copper Cactus! You could build a unique looking
collection with these Native Copper specimens! This specimen is also composed of elongated
crystals, with the largest having the added bonus of green Epidote and Quartz along the top
left side. Overall, this is a very impressive old timer from Michigan with great crystal form!

A pleasing specimen with tighter botryoidal mounds and a fine, glossy surface.
A tiny crack runs from around the center towards the lower right but this is a natural feature

Dazzling plate of shiny black Sphalerite crystal clusters atop drusy covered matrix!
What a gorgeous large cabinet specimen! The sparkling drusy covered matrix adds a perfect
contrast to the incredibly shiny Sphalerite crystal faces. There are also some individual crystals of
Sphalerite between the large clusters. In excellent condition with very little in the way of contacts!

One of the prettiest examples I've seen in a long time, these Uvite crystals are GEM and actually twinkle
when rolled from side to side under lighting. The colorless Magnesite really allow the color to pop through!

Attractive cabinet plate of Smoky Quartz atop Amazonite crystals!
This is an older specimen from Teller County and it exhibits over half a dozen terminated
Smoky points sitting atop fine crystals of turquoise-colored Amazonite. Both of these minerals
sit atop a matrix of Albite with Manebach twinning. It's very important to note that this specimen
is UNREPAIRED, which is a major rarity when it comes to cabinet sized Smoky-Amazonites.
This specimen was found complete and in one piece and remains so to this day. It dates back to
Tucson 1985 where collector Marvin Rausch purchased it and was also once in the Richard Kosnar
Collection which probably means it dates even earlier than that. Most likely from the mid 1970's.

EXCEPTIONAL large plate of intensely lustrous Schorl crystal clusters on white Quartz!
These incredible Schorl specimens appeared about 7 years ago in Tucson and have all but disappeared
from the market. I purchased this large cabinet plate in 2006 because it was the largest of the entire lot
that I was fortunate enough to cherry-pick. It's now making its first website appearance and trust me,
the above photo (as good as it may be) does not do the specimen justice! The Schorl Tourmaline
clusters are incredibly vibrant and lustrous with a satiny sheen that just can't be captured in a photo.
These black crystal clusters are made even more impressive by the stark-white Quartz crystal
matrix that they sit on. This is the finest and largest specimen of this material that I've ever owned
or offered on the website. It would easily make a great centerpiece for the finest mineral collection.
