Breathtaking cabinet sized specimen of Native Silver wires atop Acanthite covered matrix!
True museum quality, this incredible German Silver has been in a private collection for years but was
offered to me during the Tucson Show and I was happy to acquire it for the website! The aesthetics are
stunning and it's difficult to walk away from the specimen without taking several glances as many people
found out for themselves while it was on display in my showcase. The wires rise up from the Acanthite
and climb upwards to create a the classic arborescent tree formation! The bottom wires are very thick,
forming the perfect "trunk" for the tree! The specimen is a true prize and the antique patina is gorgeous.

Museum Quality Classic featuring fine Native Gold dendrites on marbled Calcite matrix!
This is without a doubt, a specimen that belongs in a museum or a very fine mineral collection. It is easily one
of the finest Hopes Nose Gold specimens I've ever seen and also one of the largest in size. Both sides are
richly covered with the brilliant dendrites of Native Gold as the coverage is extremely heavy on the front
and drapes over to partially cover the back side as well. Hopes Nose Gold specimens are among the most
prized locality pieces in the world and the area has been closed to collecting for decades. A specimen of this
size and calibre comes to market only once in a decade and this specimen represents a unique opportunity
for the collector of fine Golds and or worldwide classics. In perfect condition and ready for the finest cabinet.

Gorgeous specimen featuring a large, multi-colored Tourmaline crystal perched aside Smoky Quartz!
This 7 cm Tourmaline crystal is a visual delight with its layering of colors, perfect termination, and glassy-
lustrous surfaces! The gemmy interiors display flashes of reddish-pink which change over grassy-green
and chartreuse before capping out with reddish-pink again. Luster flows up and down the surface striations
and the specimen can be displayed in myriad of ways, either vertically or horizontally. One of the finest
Elbaites at the show this year and in excellent condition. The attachment to the Smoky crystal is solid.

Gorgeous specimen of Native Sulfur crystals on Aragonite matrix!
This is a classic specimen from the long closed mines in Sicily, Italy. It displays large gemmy crystals,
many of which are doubly terminated. They are lustrous and transparent, measuring to 4 cm atop the
white Aragonite matrix. There are nearly two dozen crystals of varying sizes here and all light up and
glow when displayed under case lighting. There's also a small amount of natural bitumen adding both
color and originality. In excellent condition, this was one of the top Sulfur specimens I found in Tucson.

Very aesthetic specimen of Native Wire Silver rising up above a Native Silver matrix!
Stunning specimen of Native Silver in true arborescent style. I can't imagine a more attractive, tree-like
Native Silver from China. The wires of this specimen are perfectly balanced in size and position. They sit
atop a matrix that is a mix of wires and massive Silver and all of the main vertical wires seem to originate
from a central point or "trunk". The patina is a lovely soft, almost iridescent color over lustrous surfaces.

Exceptional large cabinet plate featuring Quartz epimorphs after Calcite crystals with Fluorite and a huge enhydro!
This large, museum quality plate is a sight to see! There are nearly a dozen Quartz epimorphs after Calcite crystals on the
sparkling Quartz matrix with purple-lavender Fluorite accents highlighting the upper edges of each epimorph. The crystal
habits are sharp and perfectly preserved and one of the hollow epimorphs, the doubly terminated crystal in the middle and
in the close up photo is host to a huge enhydro! There must be several tablespoons worth of water trapped inside the crystal
and it rolls back and forth noticeably when the specimen is tilted side to side. It's amazing to see and the darker portions of
the crystal in the close up photo are the enhydro. And if all that weren't enough, there's a gorgeous line of lavender zoned,
purple Fluorite cubes running down the right side of the matrix from top to bottom. This is a plate that is in excellent shape
with no detractions and enough eye appeal for several specimens of equal size. I've never seen another like it anywhere.

Exceptional and very impressive specimen of Native Silver with Acanthite in Calcite matrix!
I acquired this specimen from a private collection in Cobalt and it went immediately into my personal cabinet.
It's the finest Cobalt Silver specimen I've seen and is a true centerpiece. Brilliant, leafy, dendritic Native Silver
rises upwards atop the various seams of Silver and gray Acanthite running through and atop the matrix below.
The appearance of the Native Silver rising atop the matrix and the contrasting seam throughout the Calcite and
greenish matrix is incredible and super aesthetic. I've searched for classic specimen of Silver from the world
famous Cobalt Mining District for many years and specimens of this calibre are extremely rare. A true prize!

Gorgeous specimen featuring large, multi-colored Tourmaline crystals perched aside Smoky Quartz and Feldspar!
This large 7 cm Tourmaline crystal is a visual delight with its layering of colors, perfect termination, and glassy-
lustrous surfaces! The gemmy interiors display flashes of reddish-pink which change over grassy-green and
chartreuse before capping out with a hint of reddish-pink again. Luster flows up and down the surface striations
and the main Elbaite crystal is accompanied along the right side by a smaller crystal of similar coloration. This
crystal is quite unique in that it shows evidence of a natural shift in formation, possibly a breakage which rehealed
in the pocket and continued upwards to termination. I love specimens like this which show the forces of their
geological environment through the formation of their crystals. Smaller, very gemmy Tourmalines can be seen
to the right of this crystal, atop the Feldspar matrix. All display full terminations and a strong internal brilliance.

Stunningly beautiful combination specimen of Morganite with Quartz and green Tourmaline on Cleavelandite!
This lovely combination is not only beautiful but it's also quite rare to see a Morganite with a Quartz crystal of such
quality and clarity. Both are gem and exhibit perfect form with glassy-lustrous surfaces. The Morganite is large at
7 cm in width and the Quartz is perfectly terminated, rising 6 cm above Cleavelandite. Both are accented by gemmy
green Tourmaline crystals which add the perfect touch of additional color. An exquistite specimen in every rega

Exceptional cabinet sized Native Wire Silver on Silver and Acanthite matrix!
This specimen has tremendous eye appeal and artistic form. It has the presence of a much more expensive
Native Silver from the famous Freiberg Mining District but offers it all in a much more affordable price range.
The wires are thicker at the base, measuring 1.5 cm in width. They rise upwards to a height of nearly 12 cm and twist
and turn in a way that is so sculptural and dramatic that it's impossible not to be impressed. The wires are of varying
height and there are many curls and shepherd's hooks as they terminate. Clean and lustrous with a light dusting of
Acanthite drusy between the striations, the antique patina is absolutely gorgeous. Can be displayed from either side.

Absolutely superb specimen of crystalline Native Gold on Quartz!
At first glance, the large trigon crystals along the top jump out at you but when you take
a closer look at this gleaming specimen, you see that it is completely crystalline from top
to bottom! Trigons, flattened crystals, dendritics, and dodecahedrons form the body of this
incredibly lustrous and flashy Gold specimen. The center portion is so crystalline dendritic
that it takes on the appearance of woven fabric! The Quartz is nearly all white and is perfectly
proportional to the Native Gold. California Golds of this quailty are becoming extremely difficult to
find and this one represents a wonderful opportunity. This specimen represents a unique opportunity!

Spectacular specimen of crystalline Native Gold rising up atop a base of white Quartz!
This is one beautiful specimen of Native Gold - definately one of the finest from the show.
It measures over 9 cm in height so it's small cabinet in size and I can't stress enough just how
incredibly bright and flashy the crystalline structure is, top to bottom! Dozens and dozens of
flattened trigons are mixed with octahedrons, forming an arborescent structure of golden
dendrites. Near the very bottom the gold becomes more semi-crystalline as seams of Native
Gold pop in and out of the white Quartz matrix in this area. The contrast between the brilliant
Gold crystals and Quartz is gorgeous and the entire specimen is covered with an intense luster.

Gem crystals of Red Beryl perched atop Rhyolite matrix!
This nearly 2 cm Red Beryl crystal is perfectly terminated with a good amount of gem and brilliance.
There is only a slight amount of Rhyolite inclusion near the lower portion and the crystal is firmly attached
atop the white matrix. Smaller, gemmy Red Beryls surround the main crystal as they stair step their way down
the white Rhyolite. Matrix Red Beryl specimens have become ALMOST impossible to find in today's market and
this is the finest example I've been able to locate in quite some time. This is a rare opportunity for all collectors.

Rare specimen of Native Silver on Quartz matrix from Silver Islet!
This is an amazing and quite thick wire of Native Silver curling atop white Quartz matrix.
Silver Islet is a prized locale for collectors and one that is now under water and inaccessible.
The mine itself was actually located on an islet in Lake Superior and as one would expect,
eventually the water rose higher and flooded the shaft. Authetic Silvers from the Silver Islet
Mine date back to as early as 1868 when ore was first discovered by Thomas MacFarlane
to as late as 1884 when the mine was finally closed after yielding over $3 million in Silver.
The above specimen displays a beautiful antique patina, which is indicative of its age, over
strong luster.

Tremendous rarity! A large lilac Apatite crystal sitting alongside a Beryl var. Aquamarine on Quartz!
Also with Albite and Muscovite, this is easily the finest Apatite-Beryl combo specimen I've seen from Maine
and I don't know of any others that even come close. This specimen was acquired privately back in 1969
by Richard Kosnar from Perham's Mineral Store which was located in West Paris, Maine. The specimen
actually comes with the original bill of sale. The purplish Apatite crystal is glassy lustrous and measures
2 cm in size. Its companion Aquamarine crystal measures a well matched 1.8 cm and is also quite lustrous
with reflective surfaces. Both crystals are sharp with only trivial contacts. The north side of the Aqua is
slightly irregular where it formed around a now missing Albite crystal. I can't stress how incredibly rare
a combination of this calibre is from Maine pegmatites, especially one in this condition and with the
aesthetical qualities of this very special, small cabinet sized specimen. In excellent condition overall.

EXCEPTIONAL specimen of super brilliant Native Gold var. Electrum leaves and dendrites on Quartz crystal matrix!
This plate is unbelievable under a 10X loupe, displaying some of the finest, well formed dendrites you'll ever see on a Romanian
Gold specimen. The crystals are very sharp and distrinct, forming dendritic herringbone patterns across a good portion of the
Quartz drusy covered matrix. They sit alongside lustrous and mirror-brilliant leaves of Electrum which cover the entire left side
of the matrix. This is without a doubt, the finest Electrum specimen I've offered from this classic locality and one of the richest
I've ever seen. Electrum is a mix of Native Gold and Native Silver and depending on the Silver content, the color can be a slight
yellow to a pale golden. This specimen leans toward the lighter side so I would suspect the Silver percentage is at least 40%
or higher. Along the right side of the sparkling matrix are Pyrite and what appears to be Chalcopyrite crystals for accenting.

Gemmy red rhombs of Rhodochrosite with Quartz drusy!
This is a classic rarity of Rhodochrosite on micro-crystalline Quartz from one of the rarest localities for Rhodochrosite
in both Colorado and the world. This is also the finest matrix specimen I have ever seen from the John Reed Mine.
Mindat only displays three photos of Rhodochrosite from this locality and none come close to the quality of this one.
This specimen displays half a dozen gemmy and deeply colored rhombs which are deep cherry-red with just a touch
of burgandy in the mix. The rhombs are surrounded by a sparkling Quartz covering and the specimen is in excellent
condition. If you're a Rhodo collector or have a collection of fine worldwide specimens, this is a very rare opportunity.

Exceptional Native Silver wires with Acanthite crystals and on Silver matrix!
This is a MAJOR Native Silver and one of the finest I've ever seen from the Hongda Mine!
First of all, it's an impressive small cabinet in size. Secondly, the Native Silver - Acanthite base gives
rise to over a dozen wires, all curling upwards like flames of a fire. The wires are highly lustrous and
brilliant with some displaying a secondary crystallization atop the striated surfaces. It appears that
small Silver crystals began to form at some point atop some of the wires, giving them a serious amount
of sparkle to go with the noticeable luster. The base of the specimen is mostly Native Silver with some
scattered Acanthite crystals and Acanthite micro-crystals. There also appears to be a greenish mineral
along the left back side wires that may be Sphalerite. The surface patina is a beautiful golden-brown.

Dazzling specimen of bright yellow Native Gold in leaf form on white Quartz matrix!
This is an amazing specimen from the famous 16 to 1 Mine and the only crystalline leaf specimen
I've ever offered from that locality. The most common forms of 16 to 1 Gold are pepper Gold in
Quartz (popular as jewelry) and massive semi-crystalline Gold in Quartz. Leaf Gold is extremely
rare and requires a fractured Quartz matrix to form in the first place. Under magnification I can
see tiny trigons atop many of the leaves and at least one Gold wire! If you look just north of the
center of the specimen, the wire is pointing downwards and towards the southwest. The surfaces
are extremely lusterous and brilliant with some smoother areas of mirror-like flash. This specimen
exemplifies the contrasting butter-yellow Gold against white Quartz that the 16 to 1 is reknown for.

Absolutely gorgeous green to bluish-green gem Tourmaline perched vertically on Quartz with Albite!
What a stunner. The main Tourmaline is perfectly terminated with a pyramidal termination. It displays a super
transparent interior that easily lights up under normal room lighting and glows in a case environment. The gemmy
interior ranges from Emerald green near the base to a bluish-green coloration along the top half of the crystal.
Beautifully stirated with rolling luster, this is one superb Tourmaline. Smaller green Tourmalines can be seen just

Gorgeous red scalenohedral crystals of Rhodochrosite on Manganite matrix!
Pure color and pure gem! I haven't offered many South African Rhodos over the years but this one
caught my eye the moment I saw it! The crystals are in excellent shape with full terminations and
glassy faces that clearly show the inner gemminess of each Rhodo! It's amazing that something so
red can also be so transparent. This specimen will scream color even under faint lighting and would
make a wonderful competition miniature. The dark Manganite matrix adds the perfect contrast.

Tremendous German Classic featuring wires of Native Silver with Acanthite, Acanthite ps Silver, and Polybasite between layers of Dolomite matrix!
This is a museum quality specimen which dates back to the late 1700s - early 1800s and is as original as fine German Silvers come! It is literally, a thick
seam of Silver wires intertwined with Silver mineral crystals which are running between layers of Hematite stained Dolomite matrix. It is quite heavy,
attesting to the richness of the Silver content, and very aesthetic from various display angles. It would look great on a rotating base with Silver wires
and crystallization showing from all sides. Looking at the specimen, one is taken by the incredible richness of the seam and the number of wires which
cover the sparkling crystalline Silver beneath. I've seen many German Silvers in my collecting days and this specimen would rank near the very top,
especially if one is looking for a top end matrix specimen. In excellent condition with an incredible display and no damage or contacting to speak of.

EXCEPTIONAL RARITY! Unbelievable specimen of Native Silver on Cerussite!
This is easily one of the most incredible finds at the show. This is a specimen of Native Silver
on white Cerussite from the Bunker Hill Mine and it is easily the finest specimen of this material
that I have ever seen. It's also the largest since almost all are thumbnail size when they come to
market and they don't appear that often. Looking at the specimen with a naked eye, I can see
dozens of Native Silver inclusions sticking out from the Cerussite or laying atop its glassy white
surfaces. Upon closer inspection with a 10X loupe, I see intricate Silver dendrites and cris-crossing
wires as illustrated by the close up photo above. This specimen is loaded with Silver crystals and the
amazing thing is that it is SMALL CAB in size. Every other specimen of this rare material that I've seen
or heard about has been thumbnail or micromount sized. I don't know how many have survived in this
size range but I've not seen another so there can't be very many. This specimen is an incredible example
of the Silver-Lead Deposits at Bunker Hill and what can happen when each mineral separates into their
own form. The Cerussite is in very good condition with very few contacts. This specimen can be displayed
aesthetically from both the front or back and would look amazing if mounted standing upright on a base.

Absolutely gorgeous Proustite crystal cluster on Calcite covered matrix!
One of the finest I've ever seen, this very impressive classic locality specimen carries the impressive
provenance which includes the American Museum of Natural History Collection in New York City. From there
it went into the famed Lawrence Conklin personal collection, probably through a trade with the museum which
he was known for. The specimen dates back to the early 1800's and features an impressive cluster of Proustite
crystals perched along the side of a Calcite covered matrix. The color of the Proustite crystals is a deep red which is
incredible considering the age of the specimen, and the crystals are also very sharp and lustrous. This is the Silver
mineral known as Roby Silver for its ruby-like coloration and this specimen has been beautifully preserved over the
decades. The specimen is in excellent condition and the crystals are super sharp with only a few trivial natural contacts.

Museum plate of Pyrargyrite crystals with Acanthite and Quartz from Tonopah, Nevada!
An unbelievable find!!! This specimen was presented as a gift to the Philadelphia Academy in 1915 by
the Tonopah-Belmont Mining Company and has not been touched or messed with since it was found in the
mine pocket nearly 100 years ago. Large cabinet in size, this is a true relic from the earliest Silver mining
history of Nevada and represents the largest and finest specimen that I've ever seen from Tonopah or
any other mining locale in Nevada for that matter. The plate features dozens of shiny, lustrous Pyrargyrite
crystals with Acanthite and white Quartz points. There's a good deal of color remaining in these ruby-silvers

MUSEUM QUALITY PLATE OF CLASSIC RHODOCHROSITE!
This incredible plate is a large cabinet sized Climax Mine Rhodochrosite on Quartz point matrix!
Anyone who knows Rhodochrosite knows just how incredibly difficult it is to find a good Climax
Rhodochrosite. Occasionally I see incomplete rhombs without matrix or even rarer - a partial or
coated rhomb on matrix. But the holy grail for Rhodo collectors is a cabinet sized plate of Quartz
crystals with large, complete, deeply colored (and uncoated) rhombs. Quite frankly, I haven't seen
or offered a larger specimen from the Climax Mine! Large translucent rhombs of cherry-red Rhodo
measure to 5.5 cm, 4.5 cm and 3.5 cm in size! I count nearly two dozen rhombs of various sizes!
Sitting atop a bed of stout Quartz crystals with Pyrite, this specimen is in excellent condition!

From the Ceresco Ridge Area of the Climax Mine, Fremont Pass, Lake County, Colorado.
Measures 11 cm by 16.4 cm by 10.6 cm in total size.

Gorgeous specimen featuring a pinkish Calcite crystal sitting above tan Calcites on Sphalerite!
Absolutely stunning specimen featuring a pristine pink Calcite sitting atop tannish cream-colored
dog-tooth Calcite scalenohdrons! Both Calcite habits sit atop brownish-orange Hematite covered
Calcites and Sphalerite. One of the best of these I've seen and one that displays well from both sides.

Exceptional cabinet plate featuring deep purple Amethyst crystals with Hyalite Opal atop matrix!
What a gorgeous specimen this is! The crystals are super gemmy and this allows the light to pass
through the cluster, bringing out the beautiful grape-jelly color. The Amethyst tips are complete and
pristine, with the largest crystal measuring 5 cm in length. The glowing crystals all display darker
purple phantoms beneath very glassy surfaces. This is a gorgeous piece and it even sits on its own.

Denver2015-148GoldOldWestMineZimbabwe64mmB.jpg (570776 bytes)

Extremely rare specimen of crystalline Native Leaf Gold with white Quartz from Zimbabwe!
This is one of the rarest Native Gold specimens I've ever offered on the website and mindat.org doesn't even
display a picture for this locality. The specimen was mined in 1946 when the country was still known as Southern
Rhodesia and was a British Crown Colony. It was preserved by Sir Digby Burnett, the Director and General Manager
of the London and Rhodesian Mining and Land Company, who then later gifted it to a friend, Lady K. C. Tait. From
there, the entire provenance of the specimen has been recorded, making this one of the best documented Native Gold
specimens I've ever acquired. The specimen is comprised of thick leaves of incredibly lustrous Native Gold on a bed
of white Quartz. The leaves are host to small trigons and pyramidal shaped Gold crystals which sit atop the smooth
brilliant surfaces. The specimen is quite heavy, weighing 96.5 grams or about 3 ounces. Very impressive and historical.

From the Old West Mine, Penhalonga, Mutare District (Umtali District), Manicaland, Zimbabwe (Southern Rhodesia).
Measures 5 cm by 6.4 cm by 2 cm in total size.

Himmelsfürst Mine, Brand-Erbisdorf, Freiberg District, Erzgebirge, Saxony, Germany.
Measures 9.6 cm by 6.1 cm by 5.9 cm in total size.

Gorgeous specimen of Sweet Home Rhodochrosite with Quartz needles on Tetrahedrite!
The lustrous 1 cm crystal of Tetrahedrite just to the right of the largest rhomb is the perfect touch for what
is a very impressive Sweet Home specimen. The Rhodos have some of the best cherry-red color to come
from the Sweet Home Mine and will catch your eye from across a room. They measure 2.2 cm and 1.5 cm in
size and are framed by numerous smaller rhombs which take on a circular pattern around the larger rhombs.

Amazing specimen of Beryl var. Emerald on Biotite matrix from Ethiopia!
A very small collection of incredibly fine Emerald specimens from Ethiopia appeared at Tucson this year
and I had the ability to cherry-pick the grouping for the best of the best specimens. The color of these Emeralds
is superior to anything I've seen from Africa and is better than Emeralds from Nigeria and Zambia in my opinion.
They are colored by Chromium and have an inner brilliance and color intensity very similar to what one sees in
Colombian Emeralds. The above specimen was the largest matrix specimen of which there were less than half
a dozen as most are removed from their matrix by the local miners. It is doubly terminated and full of glowing
gemminess beneath glassy-lustrous surfaces. The matrix is Biotite covered Feldspar and there is no damage.
The horizontal Emerald crystal measures 3 cm in length by 2.3 cm in width! It is bordered by smaller Emeralds
along the front and back side - At least half a dozen in total. This was the largest and finest matrix piece in the lot.

Denver2015-142WulfeniteRedCloudMineArizonaUSA8cm.jpg (367861 bytes)

Amazing specimen featuring a TWINNED Wulfenite blade on Limonite matrix!
The incredible twinned Wulfenite blade top center measures nearly 3 cm in size and is super glassy and lustrous!
It is surrounded by numerous fine blades of translucent reddish-orange Wulfenite inside the Limonite matrix
seam which has served to protect the crystals so well. This is one of the finest specimen of Red Cloud Wulfenite
that I've seen in years and with the twinned crystal, definately one of the most unique. Red Cloud specimens of
this calibre are just not available anymore and most have to come from older collections as this piece did. This
specimen is in excellent condition and the crystal blades are very reflective. They are all very translucent
and all display sharp form with chisel-tip edges. The picture above says it all about this aesthetic specim

Denver2016-86LeadLangbanSweden125mm.jpg (261511 bytes)

Rare and amazingly aesthetic specimen of Native Lead on matrix!
Native Lead is a rare mineral and admittedly, not one of the most aesthetic in the world. This specimen
is on an entirely different level however, as it is as aesthetic as many of the Native Silvers I've offered
on the website over the years. The Native lead starts at the bottom of the mosaic-style matrix and climbs
upwards until it finally rises high above the top with an arborescent looking crystalline spray. I've never
seen anything like this piece. The checker board style matrix of white Quartz and dark patches is awesome.

Exceptional specimen featuring bold sprays of Linarite across stacked Galenas with Fluorite!
This is an amazing specimen. The Galena cubes are stacked atop one another and covered
with a sparkling surface coating of Anglesite. Over these surfaces grew the blue Linarite crystal
sprays which are very sharp and distinctive in relation to what one usually sees from this locality.
The Galenas sit atop a matrix of small white Quartz crystals with a Fluorite along the left edge.

Rare and spectacular specimen of Native Gold on Quartz matrix!
This incredible specimen is one of the finest and largest specimens I've seen from the small
and pretty much obscure Gold discovered at the Olive Grove Prospect which I am told was found
during the digging of a water well. This good sized specimen displays highly lustrous, semi-crystalline
layers of richly colored Gold, both front and back, atop a small matrix of white Quartz. Absolutely stunning.

Locality: Olive Grove Prospect, Mariposa County, California.

Gorgeous new Tourmaline var. Rubellite with Quartz, Cleavelandite and purple Lepidolite!
An incredible mix of colors on this fine classic specimen from the Stewart Mine. The vertical Rubellite
crystal, one of three on the specimen, measures 6 cm in length and displays a perfect termination. The
second, smaller crystal is matrix terminated while the thin 3 cm crystal on the back side terminates into
the Quartz and Lepidolite. One of the finest combos I've seen from Pala in years. In excellent condition.

Glorious combination of Pink Fluorite on green Prase Quartz with Ilvaite and Arsenopyrite!
I rarely use the word glorious in my descriptions but this specimen is very deserving of that description!
Perfect octahedrons of reddish-pink Fluorite climb the specimen's center with a dramatic crystal spray
of green Prase Quartz just to their right. Another smaller cluster of Prase Quartz stands upright to their
left, alongside a large Ilvaite crystal on the far left. Arsenopyrite crystals can be seen in the foreground
and along the back side. This specimen is even better in person and would a tremendous centerpiece.

Locality: Huanggang Fe-Sn deposit, Hexigten Banner, Ulanhad League, Inner Mongolia, China.
Measures: 9 cm by 15.8 cm by 9.3 cm in total size.

Superb specimen featuring standing blades of iridescent Covellite with Quartz and Pyrite on matrix!
I rarely find Butte Covellites of this quality and those that I do find are usually not very iridescent.
This specimen is both! The blades are freestanding and shiny-lustrous. The color is super iridescent
with strong flashes of intense red, purple, and blue. The blades are in excellent condition and protected
inside a slightly concave matrix with Quartz and Pyrite. If you are looking for a superb Covellite, this is it!

Absolutely SUPERB specimen featuring lustrous blades of Djurleite-Chalcocite with Native Silver at the base!
This is a spectacular combination in every respect and one that I have never seen before. I've done research on
the piece and mindat.org has nothing listed which compares and there is no listing for Silver at this locality but
there is Native Copper. I strongly believe this specimen is UNIQUE and if there are any others that exist, I have
not seen them listed anywhere. The blades of Djurleite-Chalcocite are incredible sharp and display a rolling luster
along the perfectly striated crystalline patternings. Situated between and around the base of the upright blades are
fine wires of Native Silver atop a white Quartz matrix. I know of no other specimens which display the Silver association.
This is from a recent find of rare Djurleite specimens displaying an intergrowth of Djurleite and Chalcocite. This has been
affirmed through analysis and the small discovery of specimens was made in 2014. In excellent condition with great eye appeal.

This find could possibly represent the best ever for the Djurleite species due to the sharpness and exceptional crystal structure.

SPECTACULAR plate of super vibrant blue crystals of Azurite with Malachite along the edges!
Easily some of the finest Azurites to ever come to market, the Milpillas find has been one for the record books.
These crystals display mind blowing luster and glow under direct lighting. The terminations are complete and the contacts
are very few and trivial. This is one of the things I always check for in a Milpillas specimen because so many have broken
tips. The largest crystal here is around 2.5 cm in length and every crystal is incredibly sharp and unbelievably lustrous. This is
easily one of the finest from the show. In excellent condition, this cabinet plate is as pristine as they come. Simply spectacular!

Measures 10 cm by 10.7 cm by 4.5 cm in total size.

Exceptional and absolutely dazzling specimen of Gem Boulder Opal in brown ironstone matrix!
Loaded from left to right with flashes of reds, greens, yellows, oranges, and blues,  this AMAZING Opal is the largest
and thickest seam of Precious Opal I have seen on an ironstone matrix! Usually occuring as thin, winding seams spread
throughout the brown matrix, this specimen is literally a thick slab of solid Precious Opal atop the host rock. It looks
more like an Opal from Coober Pedy if not for the ironstone. Simply incredible cabinet sized plate that be could be cut
into some gorgeous, high quality stones. The fire present along the top portion is top grade Opal and there's a lot of it!

Tremendous specimen of semi-crystalline Native Gold on Quartz matrix!
This is a super aesthetic specimen from the Gold fields of Western Australia. Gold is usually found
in nugget form and matrix specimens, especially matrix specimens of this quality and eye appeal, are
exceedingly rare. The color of the Gold is brilliant and it penetrates deep into the Quartz matrix and
can actually be seen as a seam along the bottom side edge. One of my favorite Golds from the show.

EXCEPTIONAL!! An absolutely outstanding cabinet sized plate of crystalline Native Silver!
This Michigan specimen displays a superb combination of fine dendritic crystals with spinels!
Impressive at first sight and one of the most aesthetic, well balanced Michigan Silvers I've owned,
this is also one of the largest pure Silvers I've ever seen as there is no Copper anywhere. Just a
slight accenting of green Epidote near the center. This would make an incredible addition to a
Michigan, Silver, or Native Elements collection and would be a perfect centerpiece as well!

Locality: Wolverine Mine, Houghton County, Michigan.
Measures: 12 cm by 10 cm by 3.3 cm in total size.

Rare and quite exceptional specimen of Covellite blades on Pyrite matrix!
Perched aesthetically atop Pyrite matrix are these fine iridescent blades of Covellite, measuring to 1.8 cm in length.
Covellites from Butte, Montana are widely recognized as being among the best in the world and a specimen of this calibre
is incredibly rare. I know this because I have searched for them for more than 20 years and I can count the number of high
quality Covellites I've found on just two hands. The quality of this piece with its sharp individual crystals and highly reflective luster
is in the top 5%! This specimen is Ex. Gene Meieran Collection and was in his well known sulfide suite when it was illustrated in the
Butte Minerals and Mining special issue of the Mineralogical Record, published in 2002 (page 50). The Meieran sulfide suite was
broken up around 2005, with much of it being donated to Harvard. This fine specimen made it out early however and into private hands.

Super aesthetic specimen of Native Wire Silver from Freiberg!
This is easily one of the most artistic looking German Native Wire Silvers I've seen in the miniature
size range.  The specimen takes on the appearance of a bending tree as it leans towards the left and
gives rise to numerous smaller wires which sprout out and upwards from the much thicker "trunk".
Interestingly, one wire bends downward and touches the ground. Beautifully patinaed and structured.
Arborescent Silvers are always among the most popular and this one fully captures that appearance.

Denver2015-146closeup.jpg (317779 bytes)

Exceptional and rare! Gemmy golden Topaz on matrix with Aquamarine crystals and Microcline!
This is one of the rarest specimens to come my way in quite some time. Most dealers have never
seen this combination because it occurs so rarely and the individual Pegmatitic zones of these gem
minerals do not appear together very often. When they do, the specimens are generally smaller
and unimpressive, not anywhere near the calibre of this amazing cabinet plate. This specimen is in
excellent condition with fully terminated crystals and no damage except for the incomplete Microcline
on the back trimming edge. The large Microcline in the back center has been stabilized but the three
gem crystals are all natural and unrepaired. For the combination, the Aquamarines are in amazingly
good condition and display gemmy-clear terminations. The Topaz is deeply colored and pure perfection.

Denver2015-121SilverCopperCalumetMineMichigan65mm.jpg (276298 bytes)

Incredibly aesthetic specimen featuring crystals of Native Silver on Native Copper!
I call this circa 1880's specimen the Silver spinel-twin Pine Tree on Copper Mountain.
This is one of the finest examples of arborescent Silver from Michigan that I've ever seen.
The crystals are bright and lustrous, measuring to 2 cm in length, and display smooth surfaces
as opposed to the more common gritty Silver crystals I often see from this locality. They are
mostly spinel-twins and when visually taken as a whole, look exactly like a tree, most likely
a northern white pine. The Native Copper looks like rolling hills and the stark separation
between the Silver and Copper is stunning. This specimen was acquired from the original
owners who are the decendants of the miner who brought the piece out of the mine over
100 years ago and kept it as a keepsake. It rates as one of my favorite Michigan Silvers.

Denver2013-210ShattuckiteMalachiteOkandawasiKaokolandNamibia2.jpg (304803 bytes)

Spectacular specimen of deep blue Shattuckite with a spray of primary Malachite over Quartz!
A wonderful specimen from the find that appeared several years ago. Specimens of this quality
are rarely available in the marketplace. This is an acquistion from a private collection and one
of the finest Shattuckite-Malachite combos I've seen. The Shattuckite appears as a dark, deep
blue layer which rolls in and out of vugs and around clusters of small Quartz crystals. Its intense
color and silky sparkle capture the eye but it's the sculptural form that really sets the piece apart
from others. Just left of center is a wonderfully chatoyant spray of primary Malachite which sprays
its fibrous termination downward towards the bottom. At the top of the Malachite are a series of
glassy horizontal faces indicating a termination against smooth matrix. The deep evergreen set
against the vibrant blue has got to be one of the most beautiful color combinations in the mineral
world. This specimen is well trimmed and in excellent condition with barely a scuff anywhere.

which caused it to dissolve as the transformation took place. Specimens of this quality with complete shells are very rare.

You have here over a dozen Zircons in various sizes, all perched atop the shiny black
Biotite matrix. The crystals are extraordinarily sharp and well exposed with one smaller
crystal even sitting atop a larger Zircon crystal. For crystals to be this exposed from matrix,
there is probably some stabilization but that's the norm. They don't get much better than this!

A spectacular display of gemmy brown Smoky Quartz crystals on Schistic matrix!
This specimen is from the Polar Urals and it is the finest example from that very cold region of Russia
that I've ever seen! It is large cabinet in size and incredibly impressive with its large Smoky Quartz
crystals, all super gemmy and terminated, pointing outwards from the center in all directions. I can't
recall seeing a larger specimen from this region and I rarely see Polar Ural specimens on the market
to begin with. The color of these crystals is completely natural and the specimen literally glows a deep
amber-brown when exposed to a direct light. Polar Ural Smoky Quartz is highly prized for the intensity of
its color and is frequently used as gemstones in jewelry. The color is richer than the heat treated stones
which are commonplace today. I would go as far as to say that the color rivals the beauty of Smokys from
Switzerland and that is saying a lot. Specimens from the Polar Urals are much scarcer however and large
plates like this are almost impossible to find. This specimen is truly a unique opportunity for all collectors.

Denver2016-2b.jpg (323195 bytes)

Museum quality Petrified limb of Chromium colored wood (Araucarioxylon arizonicum)!
From one of the oddest finds of Petrified wood in the world, this Conifer tree existed between
65 and 200 million years ago during the Triassic Era. When the tree died and was becoming
petrified, it became exposed to the mineral Chromium (same mineral which colors Emeralds).
Native Americans were the first to find the material and used it in jewelry making but kept the
location a secret until it was eventually rediscovered and authenticated by the Smithsonian.
These specimens are natural hygrometers. When dry they become a very light pale green and
when wet or exposed to humidity they turn a deep green. This specimen is the largest and finest
example I've ever seen from this small find! It is an entire petrified tree limb or branch, polished
at both ends, and displaying bark structure along its entire incredible length! The specimen is in
excellent condition and represents a rare opportunity to acquire a large branch for your collection.

* The Famous "Pala Princess" *
Exceptional specimen of Beryl var. Aqua-Morganite with Morganite crystals on Albite var. Feldspar!

This specimen is known as the Pala Princess III and was once part of a famous, large Morganite specimen called the Pala Princess,
found by Roland Reed in 1982. According to John Sinkankas, it was the finest Beryl specimen found in North America to that date.
This is the third of the three large plates that was trimmed from this famous specimen. The specimen consists of several Morganite
crystals that have formed upon a host Feldspar matrix. The largest Morganite crystal actually has a beautiful blue Aquamarine core.
The Morganite to its right is a deep pinkish-orange. This is a major California Beryl with a very famous history. In excellent condition.

Exceptional specimen featuring an entire pocket of deep red scalenohedral Rhodochrosite with Fluorite on dark matrix!
This is a true museum quality plate which has literally preserved an entire pocket of Rhodochrosite thanks to the slightly
concave structure of the matrix! Large, deep red and gemmy Rhodochrosite scalenohedrons cover the dark interiors of
the pocket from one side to the other. The crystals measure to 2+ cm in size and some are doubly terminated. Also inside
the pocket are small crystals of clear Fluorite octahedrons and some smaller micro-crystals of Rhodochrosite. This is a
tremendous, nearly pristine specimen and one that is worthy of the finest collections. I've not seen a better example.

Very rare specimen featuring a large black Calcite sitting high atop large Dolomite crystals with golden Pyrites!
This is easily the finest of these
specimens I've seen. It features a large black Calcite crystal, included by shale
atop bluish-grey Dolomite crystals which are quite large in their own right! This is one those special rarities that
I always look for when they appear at the shows. Fine Calcite specimens from the Emerald Mining District of
Colombia are few and far between and this is the only specimen I've seen that hosts a HUGE 9 cm Calcite crystal!
It sits atop glassy Dolomite crystals and is complete on all sides with Pyrite crystal accents. In excellent condition.

Spectacular, large gemmy Emerald crystal with Pyrite on white Calcite matrix!
This is one of the finest Emeralds I've ever seen from Coscuez, Colombia and definately the best with a Pyrite association.
The Emerald crystal is quite large at nearly 3 cm tall and 1.5 cm in width. It displays a gemmy grassy green color that Coscuez
specimens are known for. The association of the Pyrite crystals on the white matrix is amazing and I don't think I've ever seen
a specimen with a better placement of Pyrite with an Emerald from this locality. There is no damage and the Emerald is nearly
pristine with a strong internal brilliance beneath glassy-lustrous faces. This was second finest Emerald I saw at the Tucson
show and the finest was a Muzo Mine specimen on a really ugly shale matrix. Overall, I would rate this one the most aesthetic.

"The VIKING SILVER"
Exceptional Native Silver from the old mines in Frieberg, Germany!

This incredible old classic features some of the thickest wires of Native Silver I've ever seen,
measuring 3 cm and 3.5 cm in width! AMAZING! They rise upwards, gracefully twisting and
bending atop a matrix of Silver and Acanthite before finally terminating as two "Viking Horns"
11 cm above the lower base. This is a sizeable specimen for sure and one with a good amount
of heft and presence. The thick rope-like wires are beautifully patinaed with an antique golden
to golden brown oxidation. Patches of orange brown surface skin attest to the age and originality
of the specimen since this literally takes many decades to form. Beneath the original surfaces
is a flowing luster which is more noticeable along the fine striations. I've personally owned
and offered some of the finest Silvers in the world and this one stands tall among the others.
This is truely a spectacular German Silver worthy of the finest collections. In excellent condition.

Gorgeous crystal of bi-colored Aqua-Morganite with a dark red Tantalite crystal on Cleavelandite!
One of the prettiest combo specimens I've seen in a while, this large bi-colored Beryl crystal displays
a lovely mix of blue and pink pastel coloration with the interior seemingly more Aquamarine and the
outer faces appearing to be more Morganite. The crystal is complete and glassy and sits atop the
white Cleavelandite blade covered matrix. Just to its right is a lustrous, terminated Tantalite crystal.
These crystals were once called Manganotantalite due to their dark reddish color and presence of
Manganese. Ths combination of Beryl and Tantalite is not a common one. In excellent condition.

Tremendous specimen of Native Gold on Quartz matrix!
This is one of the finest Native Gold specimens I've ever seen from China. Gold from China is anything
but common. The government there discourages the export of their domestic Gold and few specimens of
this calibre ever make it to the American marketplace. This is a small cabinet sized specimen, aesthetic and
displayable from either side, and we call it "The Dragon" because of its strong resemblance to the mythical
winged creature. In excellent condition with a vibrant luster and a rich color indicating a high metal purity.
From the Hunan Province of China.

Breathtakingly beautiful plate of blue Fluorite with reddish-purple zoning and minor Strontianite crystals!
This is
the rich color that collectors search for! A saturated deep blue with vivid reddish-purple internal zoning!
The specimen is very lustrous and complete with no detractions or contacts to speak of. The Fluorite crystals
light up and glow in just normal room lighting but under case lighting, the color really begins to flex its muscles.

Tremendous specimen featuring fine, olive-green crystals of Chlorargyrite var. Bromian Chlorargyrite on Cerussite!
This is a MAJOR rarity that belongs in a very fine Native Silver or Australian Minerals collection. Formally called
Embolite, specimens of this rare Silver rich mineral are now called Bromian Chlorargyrite due to the presence
of Bromide. This fine specimen is the best example I've seen of this unusual combination and features a very rich
clustering of somewhat hoppered Chlorargyrite crystals sitting atop white Cerussite crystals measuring to 2.5 cm
in length. In excellent condition, this amazing combination piece dates back to the early 1900's or even earlier.
From Broken Hill, Yancowinna Co., New South Wales, Australia.

Dazzling specimen of crystalline Native Gold rising up from white Quartz matrix!
This is easily one of the finest, most graceful and aesthetic Golds I've ever seen or offered! It is
totally crystalline in structure with dendrites, octahedrons, spinels, and more, all situated around a
central towering spire of pure brilliance. Near the top, the specimen becomes very arborescent and
takes on the appearance of a golden castle atop a mountain. The structure is an amazing sight under
magnification and has enough going on to keep someone occupied for quite some time. The surfaces
are super bright with a brilliant luster and flash from top the bottom. The specimen could actually be
displayed from either side as both are attractive with an equal amount of white Quartz at the base.

Measures 10 cm by 5.7 cm by 5.2 cm in total size.

Stunningly beautiful combination of a large pink Fluorite flower perched atop Muscovite and surrounded by Aquamarine crystals!
True museum quality specimen that could easily serve as a centerpiece in the finest collections. The pink Fluorite at top, which I call
a flower for its color and positioning, measures a large 7 cm in size and is absolutely perfect on all sides with complete, satiny-lustrous
faces which are are translucent to light. The color is a rich pinkish blush with a hint of red. The Fluorite can be seen from all sides as it
sits atop the center of the Muscovite blades and is surrounded by gemmy light blue Aquamarine crystals, many of which are doubly
terminated. This is one of those Pegmatite specimens that takes your breath away and there are no detractions or contacts anywhere.

Exceptional combo featuring a large, gemmy-golden Calcite perched atop an even larger Galena cube with Chalcopyrite!
What a specimen this is! A Tri-State classic combo that is both large and super aesthetic. The golden Calcite crystal
is gemmy with a superb glassy-luster that flows from one end to the other. The left tip features a textbook termination
while the right side is a flattened, matrix influenced surface. The Calcite terminated against a flat matrix here, possibly
another Galena cube. The Calcite measures just shy of 9 cm in width. It sits atop a large Galena cube that measures
better than 10.5 cm across the corners. The Galena is complete on ALL sides with a secondary pyramidal crystallization
atop the front and top faces. Sparkling crystals of golden Chalcopyrite settled in between the pyramids, adding both color
and texture contrast to the front and top surfaces. The back side Galena face is smooth and mirror-lustrous. The only
point of attachment that is visible is on the very bottom where some Dolomite is embedded in the mirror-like Galena
surface there. Otherwise, this cube would be a complete floater. A gorgeous display piece with few surface contacts.

Exceptional Native Wire Silver with Acanthite accenting and Chalcopyrite micro-crystals!
This is by far the finest Wire Silver specimen I've seen or offered from this classic German locality. This area of
Germany has been mined for Silver since the 15th century. The base of the specimen is a twisting nest of Silver wires,
Acanthite and Chalcopyrite. Rising up from this solid foundation are numerous wires of Native Silver ranging from
thick to thin. All are firm and quite sturdy - there are no flimsy, wispy wires here! The aesthetics of this specimen
are superb and the luster and striations are off the charts. I would rate this as one of my finest German Silvers.

Gemmy crystals of Golden Calcite sitting atop sparkling Pink Quartz surfaces!
This combination from San Luis Potosi is incredible. I've never seen anything like it from there and Calcites from
there are already scarce. The Golden Calcite are gemmy with a strong internal glow and they contrast beautifully
with the pink drusy Quartz surfaces which cover the entire matrix from one side to the other. In excellent condition.

Exceptional specimen featuring standing blades of iridescent Covellite on Quartz and Pyrite matrix!
I rarely find Butte Covellites of this quality and those that I do find are usually not very iridescent.
This specimen is both! The blades are freestanding and super shiny-lustrous. The color is very iridescent
with brilliant flashes of red, purple, and blue. The blades are in excellent condition and protected inside
a concave matrix vug of Quartz and Pyrite. If you are looking for a top quality Covellite, this is the one!

Incredible specimen Featuring a Native Silver "fan" perched atop Native Copper included Calcite crystals!
Also with Native Copper, these specimens are the Holy Grail of Michigan Silver specimens. I've seen two in the last 20 years
and this is by far the finest. Mindat.org has none listed in their database so the rarity of this combination cannot be understated.
The Silver fan sits atop three gemmy tipped, pink Calcites and is visible from both sides since it is positioned perfectly in the
top center. Small Silver dendrites can be seen around the base of the fan and a second, smaller Silver fan is located on the
back side. Native Copper includes all the Calcite crystals and is also present near the center and along the bottom of the
specimen. In excellent condition, this rare specimen is from the obscure Baltic Mine which is quite scarce in its own right.

Gemmy crystals of Beryl var. Emerald on Calcite matrix!
This gorgeous specimen features two main Emerald crystals instead of the usual just one. The largest stands
vertically in the center of the matrix and measures over 2 cm in size. The smaller crystal is the most gemmy
of the two and it's literally like deep green glass it's so clear. It lays horizontally just above the vertical crystal!
A wonderful multi-Emerald specimen and these are few and far between. In excellent condition with great color
and luster throughout. This was my favorite Emerald specimen at the show and they're becoming quite scarce.

Gorgeous specimen of gemmy Native Sulfur crystals on Aragonite matrix!
This is a classic specimen from the long closed mines in Sicily, Italy. It displays large gemmy crystals,
all of which are clean and virtually pristine. They are lustrous and transparent, measuring to nearly 4 cm atop
the bright white Aragonite matrix. There are around a dozen crystals of varying sizes here and they all light up
and glow when displayed under case lighting. In excellent condition, this was the finest Sulfur I found in Denver.

Incredibly aesthetic wires of Native Silver, rising upwards atop black matrix!
I haven't seen a Peruvian Silver of this calibre in over a decade since they were first discovered!
This impressive specimen features half a dozen sturdy wires rising high above the black matrix,
with the wire on the far right becoming more crystalline at the top where it expands in size due to
the presence of numerous Silver crystals. The wires are perfectly spaced and curl inward and
outward, forming one of the most aesthetic displays I've ever seen in a Native Silver specimen.

Gorgeous combination featuring a vibrant pink Kunzite crystal perched atop Green Tourmalines!
The Kunzite is doubly terminated and measures 7.2 cm in size from the complex left side termination
to the textbook termination on the right. The crystal has very good color and glows intensely when given
direct lighting on either end. The crystal is beautifully striated with a strong flowing luster. The host base is a
gemmy cluster of green Tourmaline crystals on white Albite matrix. Well balanced and in excellent condition.

Exceptionally glassy Azurite crystals forming a natural RING cluster!
A stunning specimen from the famous Milpillas Mine, this specimen features brilliant Azurite
crystals to 1.5 cm in size. They are sharp, glassy, and extremely lustrous, exhibiting the color and
eye appeal that this locale has become famous for. The crystals are attached to one another and form
a perfect ring which is open in the middle! Also, the back side of the crystals shows no point of attachment
or contacting which is amazing. I've only seen two ringed Azurite specimens from Milpillas and this is the
only one with a perfect back side, allowing for a full 360 degree display. Super rare, unique and spectacular!
in a somewhat airy manner, with openings between some allowing light to pass through.

Exceptional and rare specimen featuring fine Native Silver dendrites with purple Fluorite!
A very rich and super impressive Silver specimen from the old mining district of the Northwest Territories in Canada.

Super elegant specimen of curling Native Wire Silver with Acanthite accenting!
When it comes to fine Native Wire Silver specimens from Freiberg, this specimen is literally a work of art!
With a wonderful balance and stunning eye appeal, this miniature rates as one of the most attactive (and unique)
Freiberg Silvers I've ever seen or offered on the website. The base is composed of thick, striated wires which
artistically lean together before giving rise to numerous twisting wires of various sizes which climb upwards.
The thickest Silver wire is actually quite thick at 1 cm and can be seen to the far right, just above the base.
This antique Silver dates back to 1895 and would make an incredible addition to even the finest mineral suite.

Spectacular spray of glossy dark blue Azurite crystals on Limonite matrix!
A wonderfully aesthetic specimen, the Azurite crystals form a complete "fan" spray and are in
pristine condition with intense luster over glossy surfaces. This is easily one of the finest Azurite

Exceptional combination specimen of greenish-golden Topaz crystals with Amazonite together on Smoky Quartz!
This is an amazing specimen, the likes of which I have never seen before. Nothing of this calibre is listed on mindat.org
and I know of no other Namibian Topaz specimens in combination with Amazonite that feature crystals of this size! The
largest Topaz at top measures 5.5 cm in size. It sits atop an Amazonite to its right and a large, terminated Smoky Quartz
crystal to its left. Left of the Smoky is a beautifully formed Amazonite crystal that offers the perfect companion for the
Topaz in regards to size matching and positioning on the matrix. This is a MAJOR specimen and is easily the finest of
this variety that I've ever offered from Namibia. A second Topaz is located near the bottom. In excellent condition.

Exceptional large cabinet specimen of gem Native Sulfur crystals inside a matrix pocket!
This is easily the largest MI Sulfur specimen I've ever offered and I've sold many over the past two decades.
Actually, it's the largest specimen I've seen outside of the A. E. Seaman Mineral Museum and I think it's
larger than the specimen they have on display. The crystals formed inside a matrix pocket and were very
well protected by the concave structure. The crystals are glassy and translucent to transparent, measuring
to 2.5 cm in size. A second smaller pocket can be seen along the lower right edge of the matrix. In excellent
condition overall with a wonderfully rich presentation that is also self standing. But for the matrix, this could
almost be mistaken for a Sicilian Sulfur specimen and would make an incredible centerpiece in any collection.

Spectacular pairing of Kongsberg classics!
An exceptional Native Wire Silver with Acanthite, Galena, and complete Calcite rhomb and ultra-rare Gold var. Electrum leaves in Calcite matrix!
These two incredible specimens represent the finest pairing of classic Kongsberg specimens that I've seen or offered on the website! Both are
very aesthetic with superb eye appeal and are perfectly size matched for a spectacular display. The Native Silver features a thick and quite heavy
crystalline base which gives rise to several crystal studded wires at the very top. The wires are stout and firm and the crystal accenting appears
to be Acanthite or possibly Silver ps after Acanthites crystals. These crystals can be easily in the close up picture to the lower left. To the left
side of the Silver wires is a complete, stepped white Calcite rhomb and this is something that most collectors consider to be the "holy grail" of
requirements for a Kongsberg Silver specimen to reach the highest level of desirability! They are also incredibly difficult to find. I can count
the number of Kongsberg Silvers with a complete Calcite rhomb that I've seen in the past 25 years on just one hand. Near the center of the
specimen is a cluster of larger Silver cubes so this is a specimen that has everything, including a wonderful provenance with a handwritten
original label from the early 1800's (see below). In excellent condition with no detraction to speak of and worthy of the finest mineral cabinets

Next, we have what is easily the finest specimen of Native Gold var. Electrum I've ever seen and certainly the largest! Native Gold is a very
rare mineral in the Kongsberg Mining District and this large specimen can trace its roots all the way back to a small but very famous find that
occurred in the 1700's. It features numerous blades of Gold sticking out from a matrix of white Calcite. The blades are brilliantly lustrous and
many display a colorful iridescence which contrasts beautifully with the stark matrix. I would imagine the Gold blades extend throughout the
Calcite, making this a very rich specimen to say the least. The specimen is labeled as Electrum due to its Silver content but the color is far
from pale as the above photo illustrates. I have sold only two specimens of Electrum from Kongsberg in the past two decades and both were
thumbnails with tiny flakes of color. To find a specimen the size and calibre of this one and with such a well established provenance is incredible.
Pairing it up with such a fine Kongsberg Silver specimen makes for a dream team of Kongsberg classics and I hope the two can be kept together
in the same cabinet. I will sell them separately but the opportunity presented here is one that will probably not be seen again for a very long time.

From the Kongsberg Silver Mining District, Kongsberg, Buskerud, Norway.
The Silver with Calcite measures 8.6 cm by 5 cm by 6 cm in total size.
The Gold var. Electrum measures 7 cm by 5.2 cm by 6.7 cm in total size.

Dazzling specimen of Precious Fire Opal from Nevada!
Opal filled the interior of this piece of petrified wood and every color flash is displayed with an intense
vibrancy! Reds, greens, blues, purples, orange, and yellow cover the majority of the matrix. I find it
especially remarkable because the specimen doesn't need a water filled glass beaker to be displayed.
This is one of those rare Virgin Valley Opals that has successfully released most of its high water
content without shattering into pieces. In other words, it's ccompletely STABLE! A great display piece.

From the Virgin Valley District, Virgin Valley, Humboldt Co., Nevada.
Measures 6 cm by 8.5 cm by 4.6 cm in total size.

Beautifully crystalline and dendritic specimen of Native Silver on Calcite matrix!
This specimen is completely crystalline with numerous dendrites and herringbone crystal clusters
forming the entirety of its surface. Many of the crystals branching out from the center are quite
long and all are lustrous and range from spinel-twin to feather-like in appearance. Very impressive!

From Batopilas, Andres del Rio District, Mun. de Batopilas, Chihuahua, Mexico.
Measures 6 cm by 5.5 cm by 3 cm in total size.

Native Gold leaves, dendrites, and wires on a white Calcite seam running through Pink Feldspar!
An amazing miniature - Easily the finest I can remember seeing in this size range. The Gold is very
bright and lustrous with a myriad of crystal forms ranging from the leaves which appear at the top
portion of the Calcite seam to the wires and dendrites which cover both sides and the underneath
surfaces as well. The white Calcite seam in bordered by pinkish Feldspar (crystals!) which jut inward
towards the Calcite and a darker matrix rind which appears to be a mix of Galena cubes and Petzite!

Exceptional new find featuring Azurite with Malachite stalactites on Azurite with Malachite matrix!
This incredible large cabinet sized specimen is from a small and obscure find at Sha Wan La Ji, Wan Xiang,
a Laos locale that is not yet listed in mindat.org! The stalactites are probably hollow, consisting of Goethite
or Limonite which has been overgrown by velvety Malachite and lustrous micro-crystalline. lustrous Azurite.
I have only seen a few of these rare pieces and this is BY FAR the largest and most spectacular of all!  The
stalactite tips are complete and undamaged and the entire specimen is pretty much pristine. A true centerpiece.

Measures 15.7 cm by 16.5 cm by 6.6 cm in total size.

Exceptional cluster of Acanthite crystals with iridescent Chalcopyrite and translucent white Calcites at top!
Quite simply, this specimen represents the finest Acanthite with Calcite combination I've ever seen from the
classic Valenciana Mine which dates back to the earliest mining days of Mexico. This mine has been worked
for hundreds of years for Gold and Silver ores and specimens of hoppered Acanthite crystals ps after Argentite
with the association of large, undamaged Calcites are truly a rare find to say the least. In excellent condition.

Exceptional and Museum Calibre specimen of crystalline Native Gold on white Quartz!
This incredible cabinet sized specimen of crystalline Native Gold on Quartz is the finest Gold I've ever offered

The crystals are sharp and distinct with an intense luster that makes the specimen pop out against the white Quartz.
It rises upwards nearly 13 cm and features elongated crystals measuring up to 3 cm in size! The specimen is easily

Major Rarity! Brilliant yellow Diamond set atop matrix from Sierra Leone!
This is something you almost never see, a matrix Diamond from Sierra Leone. The crystal is
bright and gleaming with a lovely golden-yellow brilliance. The close up photo above shows how
sharp the natural growth is with well defined, glassy faces. The crystal measures .5 cm in size and
is in the 1.2 - 1.3 carat range. Most Diamond crystals from this locality are found off matrix so
when a legitimate, quality  matrix specimen comes to market, it usually doesn't last very long.

Gemmy crystals of green Demantoid Garnet with white acicular sprays of Wollastonite!
This specimen caught my eye from across the showroom. The visual aesthetics of the "fan-like" white
Wollastonite sprays against the grassy green Demantoid Garnets is stunning to say the least and the
combination is not commonly found on a plate of this size and overall quality. The Garnets are a rich
grassy green and super lustrous with glassy faces. They are well protected by the slightly concave
structure of the matrix and the Wollastonite acicular crystals spray outwards from the higher edges
surrounding the Garnets. In excellent condition with no detractions to speak of. Simply beautiful!

Very rare specimen featuring wires of Native Silver and Acanthite in a Quartz matrix vug!
This specimen is from the famous Silver Islet Mine which is now completely underwater. This is
a very impressive specimen and one of the best I've seen from the locale, displaying thick wires
of Native Silver which emerge from the matrix recess and push outwards with a couple rising atop
the matrix where they form a curling ram's horn. Scattered about the edges and atop the Quartz
matrix are dark gray Acanthite crystals. A historical specimen dating back to the 1870s -1880s
since the mine closed for good in 1884. Very lustrous with a beautiful antique patina atop the wires.
