Very rare classic! A perfect Elbaite crystal on matrix from Elba!
These specimens are as classic as minerals get. The island of Elba

Tourmalines and was the source for the name Elbaite. This cute little
terminated gem is unrepaired and displays a bright yellow and pink
bi-coloration. The crystal sits atop a matrix of Lepidolite, Microcline,
Muscovite, and Quartz. From San Piero in Campo, Elba, Italy. Measures
4.5 cm by 8 cm in size with a 1 cm bi-color Elbaite. Exceptional miniature!

TUCS1amazonite.jpg (67258 bytes)

WOW!! Large cabinet sized plate of rich Turquoise-colored Amazonite crystals with Smoky Quartz points!
Also with small Fluorites and Cleavelandite crystals, this specimen is GORGEOUS!! I haven't seen a plate
of this size, quality, and color richness since the Tree Root Pocket find of some years ago! It measures 13 cm
by 19 cm by 12 cm in size with no distractions whatsoever. There are three repairs to mention. One on the
center Smoky, another on the Smoky to far left, and the third to the matrix on far right, but they are all
perfectly done and virtually invisible! 99.9% of all Amazonite-Smoky plates of this size are repaired so
it is of little importance and does not take away from the value of the specimen! To find a large cabinet
plate of this color richness with complete, terminated dark Smokys is a VERY rare opportunity indeed!
Until this one finds a home, it will happily remain in my mineral cabinet.
From Crystal Peak, Teller County, Colorado.
