Gorgeous and quite large Golden
Calcites sitting atop a lustrous cluster of Galena cubes and Barite!
This specimen represents old Elmwood material as it was mined in the 1960's and displays
the older
habit of Calcite. It's a stunning sight to see and was originally in the Smithsonian
Museum's mineral
collection. It's in excellent shape with only a matrix separation cleave on the backside,
completely
unnoticeable and unimportant in my opinion. This would make a wonderful centerpiece for
any collection.
From the Elmwood Mine, Smith County, Tennessee - Circa
1960's.
Measures 22.2 cm by 19.3 cm by 14 cm in size.
Ex. Smithsonian Museum Mineral Collection
Ex. Revelle Mineral Collection
Comes with a custom made, labeled base
Price $14,500

Superb specimen featuring a large
Cumengeite "sixling" crystal perched atop Limonite matrix!
Definately one of the best Cumengites I've seen on
the market in many years! I saw a similar
one that was priced near five figures and the crystal was OFF MATRIX. This specimen is
firmly
attached to a stable matrix which is further accented by green Atacamite and Malachite.
From the Amelia Mine, Santa Rosalia, Baja California Sur,
Mexico.
Measures 3.4 cm by 5 cm with a 1.6 cm crystal!
Ex. Larson Mineral Collection
Price $15,000

Graceful and quite beautiful specimen
of Rose Quartz crystals atop Smoky Quartz matrix!
This specimen is wonderfully crystallized but the
crystals to the top right are the next level up in terms of
quality and size! Also note that several of the crystals are actually displaying an orange
"Citrine" coloration!
This is the first Rose Quartz with Citrine Quartz on Smoky Quartz specimen that I've ever
come across
and may be the only one around. I know I haven't seen another after looking at hundreds of
specimens.
From Sapucaia, Galiléia, Minas Gerais, Brazil.
Measures 9.2 cm by 9.3 cm by 5.2 cm in size.
Comes with a custom made, engraved base
Price $9500

Gemmy, attached crystals of baby blue
Sapphire!
One of the finest to appear on the market in many
years, this specimen features two terminations as well as a lovely
presentation since both crystals attached at the bottom tips. The interiors glow with
lighting and and the color becomes
even deeper as the photo above illustrates. There may be better Sapphire specimens
out there but I haven't seen them.
From Ratnapura, Sabaragamuwa Province, Sri Lanka.
Measures 4.8 cm by 8.3 cm by 3.1 cm in size.
Comes with a custom made, engraved base
Price $27,500

Rare and impressive specimen of twisting
Native Wire Gold on Quartz matrix!
A new find of these rare specimens appeared in Tucson this year and you could
count the number of matrix pieces on one hand. This specimen was one of the best
I saw and it has both the thickness of wire with good size of matrix that I look for!
From a locality near Santa Elena, La Gran Sabana, Estado
Bolivar, Venezuela.
Measures 4.5 cm by 3.7 cm in size.
Price $4500

Cute specimen featuring Native Copper
crystals and wires perched atop and in Prehnite!
Unsual specimen in that some of the wires have
crystals at the ends. The Prehnite is
in excellent condition and appears as small mounds, stacked one atop the other.
From the Iroquois Mine, Keweenaw County, Michigan.
Measures 5.4 cm by 5.4 cm in size.
Ex. Russell P. MacFall Collection

Gorgeous tabs of Golden Barite atop
cream-colored Calcite blades!
This is quite the cabinet sized plate. The crystals
are all complete with full terminations
on the front side and display an incredible amount of golden flash. The backside of the
the crystals are incomplete where the specimen was separated from the host rock but
this doesn't detract and is pretty much the norm with large, flat plates. An excellent
example of the Meikle Mine combinations that appeared five or six years ago.
From the Meikle Mine, Elko County, Nevada.
Measures 14 cm by 12.5 cm in size.
Ex. Edward David Mineral Collection
Price $4500

Super gemmy Beryl var. Aquamarine
specimen on Albite matrix!
A textbook perfect termination highlights
this crystal. The interior is so clear and gemmy that you
can read through it. Blue glass would be the best description for this crystal. Complete
and undamaged!
From Skardu, Gilgit, Northern Areas of Pakistan.
Measures 5 cm by 4.5 cm in size.
Price $685

Impressive specimen featujring a
large, upright Selenite crystal on Selenite crystals and matrix!
I've only seen one of this Selenite spears from
Naica and this is it! It was in my personal collection
for ten years and I finally decided it was time to give it some website exposure. It would
make a wonderful
centerpiece for any collection but please keep in mind just how tall the main crystal is
so it fits in your case.
By the way, the crystal is perfectly terminated with a slanted top and glassy surfaces!
From the Cave of Swords locality, Naica Mine, Chihuahua,
Mexico.
Measures 25 cm by 24.5 cm by 16.4 cm in size.
Currently in the Kevin Ward Mineral Collection
Price $3500

Impressive specimen featuring large
crystals of Native Copper!
The main crystal is the large triangular crystal on
the far left side but all the crystals
are distinct and make for a very attractive cluster. The surfaces are lustrous with an
attactive reddish-brown
patina. The above photo shows the specimen on its side but I prefer it upright with
the largest crystal at top.
From the Ahmeek Mine, Ahmeek, Keweenaw Peninsula, Michigan.
Measures 9.6 cm by 4.3 cm by 4.4 cm in size.
Ex. Rolf Wein Mineral Collection
Price $6500

Colorful specimen featuring Bornite
coated Chalcopyrite crystals with pinkish Calcite!
Lots of luster and rainbow iridescent color
highlights this small cab. The specimen probably dates
back to this early 1940's and was part of the large Philadelphia Academy collection. The
Chalcopyrites
are very well formed and oocassionally appear as golden patches between the iridescent
Bornite coating.
The addition of pink Calcite crystals is an added bonus and really makes the piece!
From Guanajuato, Guanajuato, Mexico.
Measures 7.5 cm by 6.9 cm in size.
Ex. Philadelphia Academy of Natural Sciences
Price $895

Gorgeous Golden Calcite crystal with
lustrous Sphalerite!
The contrast between these two Elmwood minerals is
stunning as is the perfect termination
on the Calcite. The Calcite was separated from the host rock on the bottom and that
portion
of the specimen sits in the custom base. The specimen is so well balanced and
attractive that
the lack of the bottom termination doesn't bother me in the least. A very attractive large
cab!
From the Elmwood Mine, Smith County, Tennessee.
Measures 10.5 cm by 15.5 cm by 9.2 cm in size.
Comes with a custom made, labeled base
Price $2500

Gemmy and extremely flashy blue
cluster of Celestite crystals on matrix!
These specimens always dazzle but this one seems to
have a bit more pizzazz than usual and the
aesthetics are superb. There is no damage except for the outer trim line which is the
norm. The largest
crystals rising up from the center measure 5 to 6 cm in total size! A great example of
this popular mineral.
From the Sakoany Mine, Majunga, Madagascar.
Measures 11.7 cm by 12.4 cm by 13.4 cm in size.
Price $4500

greenish-yellow color set against clear tips. The top crystal is doubly terminated and
lays horizontally
atop the peachy Stilbites while the other two rise upwards. The plate is neatly trimmed at
the edges.
