Incredible post-mining specimen of Chalcanthite crystals on Gypsum var. Selenite blades!
This specimen is cabinet sized at 16.5 cm by 16 cm and boasts Chalcanthite crystals up to
2.5 cm in size! Just to the left of the center Gypsum blade is a cluster of Chalcanthite
where the largest crystals have almost formed a stalactite. When one encounters a
Chalcanthite specimen of this quality, you almost question if it could actually be real
or one of the many lab-grown specimens out on the market. This specimen is 100%
authentic and a careful examination of the matrix proves this out. I do want to point
out that the color of the Chalcanthite is a bit more greenish-blue than what is shown
in the photograph. The actual color is very similar to that of Dioptase crystals.

MUSEUM QUALITY! VERY RARE large cabinet specimen of Native Copper xls with Amethyst!
From the Chimney Rock Mine in Bound Brook, New Jersey. Yes, there is Copper in New Jersey!
This locality has actually been mined since the 1700's but most of the ore occurs as thin sheets
of Copper between shale and basalt. This exceptional specimen came from a find in the late
1990's when the finest specimens of crystallized Copper ever discovered on the east coast
were brought out of this old quarry. Basically, the entire plate is composed of clustered
Copper crystals! I'm not a Copper collector but this specimen impressed even me and the
rarity of Amethyst in association with Copper was an added plus! Measures 27 cm by 19 cm.
Comes with a custom made, labeled stand for display.
