Tucson2010Vermont-11Bi-ColoredSpodumene.jpg (83804 bytes)

MIN#Denver2010-21 New!

EXCEPTIONAL!! Tremendous crystal of Kunzite-Triphane!
This huge crystal displays some of the finest, deepest bi-coloration you will ever see in a Spodumene!
The top 20% near the top termination is pink Kunzite and this color radiates downwards through
the length of the gemmy interiors. The remainder of the crystal is a gorgeous greenish-yellow and the
bottom of the crystal terminates as well, although with an irregular tip due to matrix influence.
This amazing crystal is pure glass! The surfaces are incredibly smooth and clear on the front face
with no striations!! The striations only appear on the sides which is highly unusual to say the least.
The interior of the crystal is completely gem and transparent, making it very easy to read through
its depth. For a crystal of this size, there are very few contacts and none are distracting. Only
a few internal craze lines are visible and this is due to the incredible clarity of the specimen!

From Mawi, Nuristan Region, Laghman Province, Afghanistan.
Measures 18.4 cm by 6.8 cm by 3.2 cm in total size!

Deep red crystals of Proustite accented by Acanthite atop matrix!
What an amazing specimen of Silver Sulfide! The Proustite has been well protected and
still maintains it's incredible eye catching color. The Acanthite is darker and more metallic
in appearance, providing the perfect contrast to the reddish Proustite crystal clusters.
From the Uchucchacua Mine, Oyon Province, Lima Department, Peru.

Denver2010-18JVleadvillegold.jpg (204500 bytes)

MIN#Denver2010-23 Sold!

VERY RARE!! Exceptional specimen of Native Gold on matrix from Leadville, Colorado!
I can count the number of Leadville Gold specimens I've seen in the past decade on one hand
and I've never seen a specimen that even comes close to this one! Not even in the Leadville
or Denver Mineral Museums. The Native Gold is a mesh of fine semi-crystalline growth and
is quite solid all the way through. In other words, there is no give to the mesh. It sits atop
the Quartz matrix and peeks out in veins all the way down to the bottom. This impressive
specimen was found in July of 2008 by Ed Muceus during a collecting trip at the Ibex #3.

From the Ibex #3 Mine, Leadville, Lake County, Colorado.
Measures 5.5 cm by 4 cm by 1.6 cm in total size.

MIN#Denver2010-25 New!

Gorgeous cabinet sized plate of Quartz var. Amethyst from South Carolina!
What a luscious specimen of Amethyst!! The color is like grape jelly and the crystal faces are so glassy
and shiny that you would swear the specimen has been polished - but it's completely natural! All of
point are complete but there is one bump on the crystal at 11 o'clock. This small contact gets lost in
the size and color of the plate and is unimportant in my opinion. This is a superb cabinet sized plate
from a old classic U.S. locality and would be perfect for gem, Quartz, or American mineral collection.
From the Ellis-Jones Mine, Due West, Abbeville County, South Carolina.
Measures 10.5 cm by 14.1 cm by 5.7 cm in total size.

Glassy, gemmy crystal of Golden Spodumene!
You won't have any difficulty reading through the gemmy Triphane crystal! The glassy
faces give way to an incredibly clear interior which have very little in the way of internal
growth or crazing. The crystal is perfectly terminated at both ends and glows like crazy!

Exceptional large cabinet Quartz cluster!
One of the finest examples of rock crystal I've ever seen from Madagascar and also the largest cluster!
The elongated Quartz points are nearly flawless save for one tiny bump on the smallest crystal in the back
and a couple of tiny bumps here and there. The longest crystal at top center is nearly 20 cm in length and is
so long that you could call it a wand! All the crystals are glassy, bright, and transparent in aesthetic display!

MIN#Denver2010-29 New!

Fine specimen of crystalline Native Gold on Quartz matrix!
Dodecahedrons and trigons are everywhere on this specimen. The Gold above the Quartz

in the mix. The specimen is
heavy at 50.4 grams (a little shy of two ounces) and priced very reasonably considering gold value.

Elegant cluster of Prehnite "fingers" ps after Laumontite!
The backside of these elongated crystals are coated with a white Zeolite, making the specimen displayable
from either side. I prefer the side shown above which shows the Prehnite with the white dusting at the edges.
In good shape with only a few missing terminations -very unusual for a plate of this size and so many fingers!

needs to be seen and examined with a loupe to be fully appreciated.

The entire specimen measures 10 cm in length (height) with a smaller sidecart wire branching
out towards the left. The surfaces are well striated, lustrous, and covered with golden patina.
This is the second time I've owned the fine specimen and I'm thrilled to offer it again!

Yellow Cadmium Smithsonite ps after Sphalerite crystals!
These disappeared from the market some years ago but a small collection came to Tucson
and I cherry-picked the best pieces of the lot.
This specimen is unique in that the rice grains of
Smithsonite are pseudomorphing Sphalerite crystals! The largest Sphalerites can be seen in the
very center where they rise up above the matrix. The underlying matrix is drusy covered.

Tucson2010Vermont-9FLUORITEHiltonMineEngland.jpg (99545 bytes)

MIN#Denver2010-40b New!

Glowing old classic specimen of Golden Fluorite in cluster!
The cubes are bright and glassy and very gemmy down to the matrix. There's a slight
peppering of Chalcopyrite inclusions just beneath the surface of each Fluorite. Overall,
this is a beautiful cabinet sized example of this lesser seen locale. There's only one incomplete
cube to speak of and it's located near the top at 1 o'clock and pretty much gets lost in the mix.

EXCEPTIONAL!! Superb cluster of mirror-like Galena cubes with Chalcopyrite on Dolostone!
This isn't the largest Galena specimen I've offered from the Tri-State District but it's one of the
finest in terms of crystal quality! The Galenas are incredibly lustrous and smooth with only a few
tiny contacts hardly worth mentioning. Some minor modification can be seen at the corners but
no secondary growth is present. This accounts for the pristine surfaces and reflective quality!
