Exceptional specimen featuring
Acanthite crystals with Polybasite and Calcite!
This very aesthetic specimen is rich with both
contrast and Silver minerals! The Acanthites
are a lustrous gray as are the Polybasites. The small Calcite crystals are colorless and
really
pop against the darker Silver minerals. The rounded Acanthite crystals branch out and form
an arrangement which reminds one of Argentite. The largest average around 1 cm in size.
From Fresnillo, Zacatecas, Mexico.
Measures 4.8 cm by 5.4 cm by 2.6 cm in total size.

An exceptional, large Barite
crystal sitting atop Quartz with smaller Barites and Stibnite sprays!
What an incredible centerpiece this specimen is! The
large Barite in the center measures 6 cm in size
and is slightly golden in color! It is bordered on the front by lustrous Stilbite crystal
sprays and other
Barite blades which are more colorless but every bit as sharp and well formed. Everything
sits atop
a dazzling Quartz drusy matrix which sparkles wildly under even faint lighting. Imagine
the luster
of the Stibnites joining with the sparkle of the drusy matrix and you get an idea of just
how flashy
this large combo plate actually is! Condition wise, the specimen is in excellent shape
with no chips
or contacts on the main Barite. The surrounding cast of Barites are also complete as are
the
Stibnite clusters. The Stibnites do have areas near the top where they contacted matrix
and the
growth went flat but this is not damage and it doesn't detract from the specimen. I
have no trouble
recommending this specimen to Barite collectors or anyone who appreciates a fine combo
piece.

Fine crystals of green Pyromorphite
atop cast-like matrix!
A sparkling specimen which is loaded with
Pyromorphite crystals and crystal sprays!
The specimen is very 3-dimensional with a cast-like matrix. The crystals climb atop the
sides and edges of the matrix and completely cover the backside portion of the upper
matrix.
For this reason, I feel the specimen could be displayed from either side and do quite
well.
From the Daoping Mine, Gongcheng City, Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous
Region, China.
Measures 7.3 cm by 4.8 cm in size.
Price $985

A gorgeous specimen that is as gemmy as it is
glassy. The surfaces are very smooth
and free of major contacts. The largest Celestite crystal to the lower right measures 5 cm
in size. It's perfectly terminated as are all of the surrounding crystals of various
sizes.
From the Sakoany Deposit, Katsepy Commune, Majunga
Province, Madagascar.
Measures 11 cm by 7.5 cm by 8 cm in total size.

Amazing specimen featuring stacked
Spessartine Garnets atop an Orthoclase crystal!
Also with Muscovite blades, I can't recall seeing another specimen quite like this one.
The
dark red Garnets are perfectly stacked from bottom to top in order of smallest to largest.
All
three are complete and lustrous with reflective faces. The Orthoclase is sharp and glassy
smooth.
From the Shigar Vallery, Skardu, Northern Areas of Pakistan.
Measures 11.4 cm by 9.7 cm in size.

Extremely lustrous specimen of sea-green colored
Smithsonite!
A beautifully formed and 3-dimensional specimen, this piece actually has two colors of
green which blend together to create a sparkling sea-green color. The botryoidal surfaces
scream luster as they convex and concave atop the sculptural matrix formations beneath.
From the El Refugio Mine, Choix, Sinaloa, Mexico.
Measures 9.5 cm by 10 cm by 5.4 cm in size.

Perfectly terminated Green Apophyllite
crystal with Stilbite on matrix!
What a lovely specimen this is! The Apophyllite is a gemmy green and the tip is pristine
unlike so many crystals from this locale. The surfaces of both the Apophyllite and
Stilbite
are glassy and undamaged. The vertical Apophyllite rise nearly 3 cm above the matrix!

UNIQUE AND VERY RARE!!
Museum plate of Pyrargyrite crystals with Acanthite and
Quartz from Tonopah, Nevada!
An unbelievable find!!! This specimen was presented as a gift
to the Philadelphia Academy in 1915 by
the Tonopah-Belmont Mining Company and has not been touched or messed with since it was
found in the
mine pocket nearly 100 years ago. Large cabinet in size, this is a true relic from the
earliest Silver mining
history of Nevada and represents the largest and finest specimen that I've ever seen from
Tonopah or
any other locale in Nevada for that matter. The plate features dozens of shiny, lustrous
Pyrargyrite
crystals with Acanthite and white Quartz points. There's a good deal of color remaining in
these ruby-silvers
and many of the Pyrargyrites show red under normal lighting A direct spotlight really
brings out the color!
Obviously this cabinet sized plate has been well protected during its many decades in the
Academy!
Measures 16 cm by 19 cm by 6 cm in total size.
From the Tonopah-Belmont Mining Company, Tonopah Mining District, Nye County, Nevada.
