EXCEPTIONAL!!! Large, GEMMY Golden Topaz crystal
with Muscovite on Albite matrix!
Every now and then I see fine examples of Golden Topaz off matrix but matrix specimens
with good color
have become nearly impossible to find in today's market. The only specimens that appear
every now and
then are all from older collections, as this piece was. The Topaz itself measures 3.7 cm
tall by 4.8 cm wide
by 4 cm in depth. It's as gemmy as can be, with glassy, reflective crystal faces! There's
also a beautiful
rainbow inside the crystal looking downward from the top. This is caused by light
reflecting off the interior
growth structure. The Muscovite blades provide the perfect framing and flank the Topaz on
both sides.
From Nyet-Bruk, Braldu Valley, Skardu District, Northern Areas of
Pakistan.
Measures 5.5 cm by 11 cm by 7 cm in total size.

Fine rhombs of Rhodochrosite with
Fluorite crystals sitting atop Quartz covered matrix!
The Silverton Rhodos are such classics and this one
includes colorless Fluorites as well! This is
a combination that I don't see often and usually they don't include so many of each
mineral. Both
the Rhodochrosite and Fluorite are set atop a white Quartz covered matrix and the specimen
is in
great condition. I love its aesthetics but I could see where a matrix trim would make it
even better!
From the long closed American Tunnel Mine, Silverton, San
Juan County, Colorado.
Measures 7.2 cm by 7.2 cm by 4.5 cm in total size.

Exceptional specimen featuring
Acanthite crystals with Polybasite and Calcite!
This very aesthetic specimen is rich with both
contrast and Silver minerals! The Acanthites
are a lustrous gray as are the Polybasites. The small Calcite crystals are colorless and
really
pop against the darker Silver minerals. The rounded Acanthite crystals branch out and form
an arrangement which reminds one of Argentite. The largest average around 1 cm in size.

Measures 4.8 cm by 5.4 cm by 2.6 cm in total size.

RARE!! Incredibly rich specimen of
Native Gold set alongside and rising atop Pink Feldspar!
This is one impressive specimen from the now closed
Nugget Pond Mine! The pink granitic Quartz
and Feldspar matrix clues the locality since it is the only mine I know of that features
this beautiful
and unique combination. The Gold itself appears as thick "leafy" growths
which pull together at the
top to form an even more solid and massive cluster. The surfaces are extremely lustrous
and the
color is a bright yellow indicating Silver content. The Gold sits atop the milky-white
Quartz seam
from where it emerged and drapes down over the pink Feldspar, creating the most beautiful
color
combination you'll ever see in a Gold specimen. I must point out that specimens of this
magnitude
from the Nugget Pond Mine are extremely rare and I've seen less than half a dozen in the
past
15 years. This is an incredibly rare opportunity to add a world famous locality to your
collection!
From the Nugget Pond Mine, Betts Cove, Baie Verte
Peninsula, Newfoundland, Canada.
Measures 6.4 cm by 5.3 cm by 4 cm in total size.

Gorgeous specimen featuring a cluster
of reddish-pink Cobaltoan Calcite crystals over matrix!
This incredible specimen has it all! Luster,
terminations, glassy faces, great color, and it is completely
covered on all sides! You could literally display the specimen on a rotating base. The
crystals are
in excellent shape with only the most trivial of contacts and very few of those. This is
easily one of
the finest miniatures I've seen from this locality. It most likely grew as a stalactite
atop the host matrix.

Super glassy crystals of Azurite with
Malachite from the recent Milpillas find!!
Easily some of the finest Azurites to ever come to
market, the Milpillas find has been one
for the books! These crystals display mind blowing luster and glow under direct lighting.
The terminations are complete and the contacts are very few and trivial. This is
one of the
things I always check for in a Milpillas specimen because so many have broken tips. The
largest crystal here is around 3 cm in length and most average around 2.5 cm in length.
I count around 8 major crystals on the specimen, with Malachite framing at both edges.
From the
Electric Blue Pocket, Milpillas Mine, Cuitaca, Sonora, Mexico.
Measures 4.6 cm by 6 cm by 4.2 cm in total size.

EXCEPTIONAL!! A large Barite crystals
sitting atop Quartz with smaller Barites and Stibnite sprays!
What an incredible centerpiece this specimen is! The
large Barite in the center measures 6 cm in size
and is slightly golden in color! It is bordered on the front by lustrous Stilbite crystal
sprays and other
Barite blades which are more colorless but every bit as sharp and well formed. Everything
sits atop
a dazzling Quartz drusy matrix which sparkles wildly under even faint lighting. Imagine
the luster
of the Stibnites joining with the sparkle of the drusy matrix and you get an idea of just
how flashy
this large combo plate actually is! Condition wise, the specimen is in excellent shape
with no chips
or contacts on the main Barite. The surrounding cast of Barites are also complete as are
the
Stibnite clusters. The Stibnites do have areas near the top where they contacted matrix
and the
growth went flat but this is not damage and it doesn't detract from the specimen. I
have no trouble
recommending this specimen to Barite collectors or anyone who appreciates a fine combo
piece.

Fine crystals of green Pyromorphite
atop cast-like matrix!
A sparkling specimen which is loaded with
Pyromorphite crystals and crystal sprays!
The specimen is very 3-dimensional with a cast-like matrix. The crystals climb atop the
sides and edges of the matrix and completely cover the backside portion of the upper
matrix.
For this reason, I feel the specimen could be displayed from either side and do quite
well.

Region, China.

Gorgeous LARGE CABINET sized specimen of
bi-colored Smithsonite!
Extremely lustrous and flashy, the slightly iridescent pinkish-lavender gradually changes
over to a bright neon blue along the right side! I love the way the Smithsonite completely
covers the matrix from the top down and into the deep crevice in the right. There are
almost
no contacts anywhere and the darker areas that are visible near the edges are only natural
areas of incomplete growth. This specimen could actually be displayed in either the way
shown
above or rotated towards the left to show the bi-colored Smithsonite inside the matrix
crevice.

Glassy blue cluster of large Celestite
crystals on matrix!
A gorgeous specimen that is as gemmy as it is
glassy. The surfaces are very smooth
and free of major contacts. The largest Celestite crystal to the lower right measures 5 cm
in size. It's perfectly terminated as are all of the surrounding crystals of various
sizes.

Classic locality specimen of Olivenite on
Calcite crystals!
I can't recall seeing a better or more aesthetic example of Olivenite from Greece.
The Calcite crystals are complete for the most part, with good terminations. The Olivenite
adds color and drapes over and between the Calcites. It also appears as small ball
clusters.
From the Christiana Mine, Laurion, Greece.
Measures 7 cm by 8 cm in size.

lustrous specimen of golden-orange Smithsonite
over Galena!
A beautiful small cab that is literally covered on all sides! You could display
either the front or back and have a beautiful specimen in your cabinet. There are
only a few bumps here and there which don't bother me at all. The surfaces are
in great condition overall and the luster is dazzling. The inner matrix is Galena.

Amazing specimen featuring stacked
Spessartine Garnets atop an Orthoclase crystal!
Also with Muscovite blades, I can't recall seeing another specimen quite like this one.
The
dark red Garnets are perfectly stacked from bottom to top in order of smallest to largest.
All
three are complete and lustrous with reflective faces. The Orthoclase is sharp and glassy
smooth.

Extremely lustrous specimen of sea-green colored
Smithsonite!
A beautifully formed and 3-dimensional specimen, this piece actually has two colors of
green which blend together to create a sparkling sea-green color. The botryoidal surfaces
scream luster as they convex and concave atop the sculptural matrix formations beneath.

Spectacular mix of Allargentum with
Dyscrasite, Schachnerite, and Native Silver!
This was easily one of the most impressive small cab combos
of this find! This highly lustrous cluster
of various Silver minerals is very dendritic in appearance and looks something like a pine
tree growing
alongside a cliff of white Calcite matrix. In my opinion, this was the best looking piece
in this size range
and it is beginning to acquire an attractive antiquish patina which only adds to it's
overall eye appeal!

Gemmy Golden Calcite crystal on pink
Dolomite with Galena and Chalcopyrite!
The crystal is perfectly terminated at top with a
lustrous grey Galena cube on the upper left
side. The Galena is partially inside the Calcite itself. Light pink Dolomite crystals form
the
matrix with small Chalcopyrite accents. The crystal is glassy with an excellent internal
glow!

VIBRANT reddish-pink Smithsonite
rolling atop 3-dimensional matrix!
The luster on this specimen is incredibly intense!
Even the photograph above was able to
capture it with ease. The color could best be described as a warm reddish pink with just a
hint
of lavender underneath. The surfaces are complete except for the occasional seam trimming.

Large crystalline leaf of Native Gold
var. Electrum from Nevada!
Techinically, this impressive large leaf is Native
Gold but the color indicates a good amount of Silver
in the mix so I would call it Electrum! The surfaces are bright and lustrous with
crystalline growths
extending along the edges and atop many of the flattened and elongated crystal leaves.
Looking at
the surface of the leaves, I can see small trigons scattered about on both the front and
back sides.

County, Nevada.

Fine terminated crystals of Indicolite
Tourmaline with Quartz and Albite!
The deep blue in these Indicolites is quite obvious
when using a photographic light but I can
even see it while using dim incandescent lighting. Also, the top portion of both crystals
is very
gemmy and transparent and this allows light to flow into the crystals, accentuating the
color!
